To Catch A Cardinal

Chapter 16

*Nycole's Pov*

Halls. Stupid. Frickin. HALLS. All there was was stupid halls! The walk that I had estimated would take 5 minutes took an hour. But hey, at least we had Toast now.

We had taken so many dead ends and lost our way so many times it wasn't even funny anymore. Even with the map we got lost. I finally had had enough of it.

"Alrighty! This is getting us no where guys. Now it's time for some very bad magic attemps, okay?" Both Kat and Toast had made up but still gave me a weird look.

"I'm really not ready for loosing another member today madam." Said Toast. "Remember the first time you tried to teleport Ghost and you found his soul? I don't want to be next thanks. Not to say I doubt you but, not today." He said and trailed off.

I gave Kat the look and she smiled. "You wanna go Kat?" I asked.

"Heck yes I wanna teleport!"

"Okay, whatever..." I said and stood next to her. I put my hand on her head and shoved her through the floor. She landed on top of me. I lay on the ground and she scrambled off of me. My left shoulder got killed.

"Alright, that didn't go as planned." I moaned as I popped my shoulder back into place.

"But that was cool... Again!" She said. I twisted my wrist and focused most of my energy on Ghost. I rest my hand on her sholder and closed my eyes. All I thought of was Ghost and her popping up near him out of sight from his kidnappers. Her body desolved and she was gone. I grabbed Toast's hand and teleported us on her wisp trail. The faint trail that only stickes around for a minute or so through space and time. We instantly landed beside Kat. She grabbed us and pulled us over to a mound of dirt that had collasped from the ceiling.

"Shhh..." She said. I peered over the mound and saw Ghost being lead away by Cardinal, Elza and another that didn't appear on my map as a dot. They continued walking down the dark corridor and disappeared into the darkness. We all held our weapons at the ready and followed them into the dark.

My bladed staff held infront of me, Kat her daggers, one higher than the other and Toast his twin pistols at the ready. I took the lead. I rushed to the wall and the others followed, I had cast an invisibility spell on us and just in time. A shadow passed infront of us, taking the same root as Cardinal, like it was following them or us.

I let out a breath of relief I didn't know I was holding. We continued on invisibly throughout the halls and we came to a door. It loomed over us and it was locked. The color of blood and black and it smelled like death. A dark presence could be felt. The darkness was heavy and almost over whelming for me. The others seemed untouched by it's presence. I could see the others standing there, pale as a ghost, but I knew they where still invisible and could see me. Toast looked at me.

Darkness started to consume my vision. I could see the others as they ran to catch me as I fell towards the darkness. I couldn't see or feel anything.

A sharp pain woke me up. I bolted upright and looked around the room. Pitch black. A gigle came from somewhere and I rose to my feet slowly.

A stabbing feeling came throughout my body. A knife was sticking out of my arm, coming out a bit on the other side. A small high pitched laugh came out feom somewhere in the dark room I was in. I reached for the knife and pulled it out. I felt no pain as I did so.

That dark presence I had felt before I passed out came into my head again. An insane laugh rang throughout the room I was in. The lights turned on. There in the middle slumped Johnny Ghost.

I rushed up to him and checked his plus. Still beating, thank god. I had no time to delay, I summoned the deepest energy from my soul that I could. Suddenly a flash illuminated from me. Light bust out in every direction, consuming the darkness but the presence didn't go away.

I reached into thin air and drew out the most powerful weapon I could think of. A double bladed sword. It had ragged wrappings around the handle and along the blade. Tight in some places, loose and hanging in others. I readied myself and stood infront of Ghost's body.

The laughter came again. Then there he was. Jimmy Casket. Or at least thats who I thought it was. Three shadowed people emerged out from behind him.

The one to my right had dark brown hair. It went down to just above his shoulders like Jimmy's. He wore a very dark puple hoodie that looked to be black. He had a grey shirt coming out underneath it and his pants were dark purple/ black. On the back of his hoodie he had a red creeper face. He smiled weakly but droped to the ground unconscious.

I wanted to help him but three others where there. To my left was a tall male also, they all where. His hair was the same. He had on a dark blue hoodie like the other one did with a light grey shirt underneath. He had on blue jeans and a green P.I.E logo on the back. He had black Converse shoes too. He also dropped to the ground, when Jimmy flicked his hand at him.

The other one to the far left had on a black hoodie with a dark grey shirt on underneath. His black jeans covered most of his high top shoes. His symbol on the back looked like a death flame, black, grey, cold and filled with dispare.

He dropped to the ground too. But then with a flick of Jimmy's hand they all became one and the darkness began to come back. It stopped 10 feet away from me because of my light sorce that I was producing.

Jimmy cackled. "Oh hi Nycole, did you think I would actually help you? No! I would never. I planned and hoped that I would go back into Ghost's body. With out me in him, he is nothing. And now I can have control when eevvveeeerrr I waaaannnntttt."

I grinned my crazy grin back at him and for a moment he seemed scared. "Ha.... you think you have contol?!" I said insanely. I took a sept foward and shook the ground. He backed up a bit. "No I have control over you. IF I kill you here. You will die." I said crazily.

"But I have two other brothers. Sage and Singe." He said and the one in blue stepped out when he said Sage, and the one in black stepped out when he said Singe. "Now who is scared of who?"

"You are scared of me still, you don't know what my limits are, I know yours though." I said camly. I took another step foward and he backed up. If this is how I protect Ghost, then so be it. I thought.

He readied his weapon Knifey. And I readied my blades, detaching them and stood in battle form ready. The fight that would determine the fate of Ghost, lay in my hands now. Jimmy lunhed at me and it began....
