24. Alessandro is back..

I had come to the US twice over the last 4 years. For the first 2 years, I didn't want to as I was scared to face the reality of Sophie marrying Leo and also wanted to give them their space, but when I got an invite from Leo 2 year back, I was shocked to know, what transpired between them and how Soph moved to Australia and I did attend Leo's wedding to talk to Soph's brother, but he wouldn't give me time of the day.

That's when I was really worried for her and I have been keeping tabs on her family and I see that they have been travelling a lot to the UK over the last 2 years..

So, once my assistant got back to me with the address they have been visiting, I decided to come by myself.. to check out, for no one ever told me anything about Sophie. Leo just told me she broke up and moved to Australia to continue her research.. I went there and none of them would tell me about her..

I sent my men, but none would talk about her saying its confidential. I tried my ways and yet, they were loyal to her.. then I decided to follow her family.

I had one man dedicated.. and he told me they were always very careful of their actions and took care.

So, this time I decided to come and check for myself.

Jane as usual was bugging me to take her shopping, so I dropped her in Dubai and gave her my credit card and asked her to enjoy while I conduct my meetings.

Yep, meetings is what I told her and this time I intend meeting Soph and asking her what the heck happened.. I assumed she would be happily married to Leo by now.. is it because of what happened when we last met.. I shouldn't have been so weak.. I hated myself for giving in to my needs.. I know she asked me to, but still, I shouldn't have.. for someone whom I wished to move on, that wasn't the wise goodbye at all..

I tried talking to Edward as well, her celebrity client.. but he told me he has no idea, which I highly doubted.

So, here I am at a quaint town in the UK where her parents seemed to have travelled a few times. So, I took the best hotel in the area, I started to walk around to see what's in this town.. except a reputed University and a church and some attractions, rest of them were small businesses.. nothing of the kind of life Soph was used to..

So, it really filled me with curiosity what she was doing here.. Research perhaps? Or did she meet a good ol British bloke and decided to come here.. I had no idea..

As I was in my thoughts, I looked up to find a bunch of kids going to school.. I saw that I was standing right across the way to school. They all looked cute in their uniforms..

But the kids were not who took my breath away, it was Soph.. it took me more than 2 minutes of creepy staring and blinking to make sure it wasn't a dream to understand that it was Soph.. she had dyed her hair.. blonde.. she looked beautiful.. she is a natural brunette and to see her in blonde and I could see she looked fuller and very prettier now, well she was always beautiful..

She was laughing and talking to some other lady who was standing there with two kids..

Then I saw her bend and give the kids kisses on their cheeks, a sweet gesture, and she started walking towards the University I suppose.. 

I decided to follow her.. not proud of it.. but what the hell was I supposed to do?

I had to talk to her before she goes into her building.. I called out to her.. "Sophie.." 

She stopped but didn't turn back.. I called her again "Soph.." 

She turned slowly and her beautiful eyes were displaying shock on seeing me..

"How are you Soph..?" I asked her.. 

"Alessandro.." she whispered..

"Can we talk? I can wait.. if you have to work.. let me know when you are done? I will be here.. " I trailed off..

"Alessandro.. give me a few minutes.. I don't have much work today.. I will just talk to my HoD and meet you here in 20minutes.." she said.

I was relieved that she didn't write me off or turn me away.. "OK Soph.. I will wait for you" I smiled at her..

She gave me a tight professional smile unlike the Soph I knew..
