27. Evan and Ryan

My eyes started to water looking at my boys hug their father for the first time.. I saw Alessandro crying too.. It was a heartfelt moment. 

I am glad I didn't stop him from meeting the boys. 

After a while, Alessandro and the boys settled and had dinner together and even played games together. 

Now, Alessandro was reading them a bedtime story while tucking them into their bed..

It was really an eventful day.

I gave them their goodnight kisses and hugs and now Alessandro did the same too.. the boys were very happy and within 10 minutes, they were fast asleep, but not before Alessandro promised them he would meet them in the morning again and drop them to school.

After Evan and Ryan slept, Alessandro and I tiptoed out of their room.

"Thank you for today Soph.. it was the best day of my life.. " Alessandro told me once we came into the hall.. 

I didn't know what to say.. for it was emotional for me as well.. so I just gave him a gentle smile and held his hand and gave it a squeeze.

And just then Alessandro pulled me into a hug.

I didn't want to for I know, I would spend hours and days wanting that over and over again while I could never have him. I didn't want to put myself through that torture now.

So, I gently tried to pull back and Alessandro didn't resist and let me go.

"Alright, then Soph I will come early in the morning.. what time do the kids go to school? what time are they up?" he asked me. 

"They are up at 7am and leave by 8." 

He just nodded and we both didn't really discuss how long would he stay and all those things which were on my mind.

Just as we reached the main door, I saw that it started to pour heavily. 

"Just stay, don't go out in this rain. " I told him.

"I don't have a change of clothes." he said.

"Well, Liam's or my dad's clothes must be here. They do leave some and go every time they come visit me." I told him.

He nodded and then I went to the guest bedroom and found Liam's tees and shorts. I handed them over to Alessandro and told him to rest. I even gave him some toiletries that are always available in my home. 

I sat at the dining table with a warm cup of chamomile tea to relax myself before I went to bed. That had become a routine of mine.

I heard a noise and looked up to see Alessandro. 

"Can I have some of what you are having as well" he asked me.

I got him a cup too.. 

We sat in silence.. After I finished my tea, I opened a book to read. 

Alessandro came and sat next to me. 

"Can I ask you some questions?" 

"Yes." 

"Why didn't you think of contacting me once you knew you were pregnant? Did you think I would really separate you from the children?" he asked me.

"I don't know Alessandro.. I don't know anything. All I knew was I got pregnant by the man I loved, who is married and I felt it's not fair to do this to you or even Jane." 

"Even now, I don't know.. how things would progress.. what would Jane say? I am worried.. for the safety of my kids and everything. How long would you stay here and in future, if you were to contact them, how would you? I still have many doubts and questions unanswered as well" I told him honestly.

"So, why don't you ask me? why won't you talk to me or even look at me?" 

"Until I come here searching for you, you never told me about Evan and Ryan, did you ever have any plans of telling me had I not come looking for you? It hurts that I can't be with the ones I love. It hurts me that the woman I love can never trust me with anything. I agree I had taken some decisions in the past which hurt you badly. I am so sorry Soph" he told me earnestly.

I didn't know what to say anymore.

I just looked at him teary eyed.

He had some unshed tears too.

And he hugged me and I ended up hugging him too. 

"I promise to make it all right Soph" he said.

After the hug, I decided to maintain my distance from him, for I know where this would lead to.

"Good night Alessandro. " I told him

"Good night Soph"

I went back to my room and slept well after a long time.

I hope all things fall into place with everyone being happy. 

In the morning, I woke up to find Evan,Ryan and Alessandro making pancakes all messy and cute. 

I looked at the time, it was 7am, and to think they were already up and making pancakes.

"Hey, when did you boys wake up?" I asked.

"Mommy" they said and came running towards me.

I hugged them both and they gave me kisses on my cheek. 

I smiled and looked up to see Alessandro looking at us with an expression I quite couldn't understand and then when he saw me looking, he immediately looked away and started plating the pancakes.

He passed me one and we all sat and ate at the dining table like a family.

My staff decided to give us privacy at this point. 

"I would be working today" I told Alessandro.

"No problem, I will drop all of you and pick you all up too." " I am free for the rest of the week, I shall take my calls once I drop you all." he said.

"We can go by walk Alessandro.. everything is quite nearby." I suggested.

"No, I want to give the kids a ride in my rental.. which is.. ta da" he showed his latest Bentley, probably drove it from London.

I smiled as I saw the kids get too excited to go on a ride with their dad in a shiny big car.

I told my housekeeper and nanny to stay home for today.

Alessandro dropped the kids at school and waved to all their friends who looked at him like he was a hero or something.

And the mummies and daddies who dropped their kids looked at us in surprise.

I could see the mothers get jealous of me, I get it..

Alessandro looks great. He smiled politely at everyone and then we got back to his car.

He dropped me off at the University and found out the pick up timings of all of us.

He said he would come. We both smiled at each other.

"Stop beating so hard.. " I told my heart.. for it could get used to this, cozy family picture we were today morning.
