And just as Myrtha appeared with my parents, Harlley’s image disintegrated leaving the frustrated Myrtha, my shocked parents and perplexed me. I stared at my mom and dad with not much of any emotion, just plain blank stare as I hear from the back of my head the last words of Harlley, ‘son of my friend’. His words echoed inside my head, drowning the swears of the old hag, Myrtha.
My mom’s the first one to move. She hugged me and she was crying.
“Are you alright, Elly? Did they hurt you here? We’ll take you home. Don’t worry son.” Son? My mom examined my face, my arms, my head for any injuries. But though her shirt is drenched with tears and her face covered with sobs, I still stared at her blankly with this big-big lump inside my throat and it feels like something big wants to escape from my chest.
I want to ask but I’m afraid of the answer. I want to know but I don’t think I can bear to hear the truth. Truth really hurts and it hurts the most when it’s been kept from you for a long time. It’s like cancer; you’ll know about it when the damage is massive enough; enough to kill you, enough to drive your mind to oblivion, enough to cancel out everything around you.
“Ah... what a family reunion.” Myrtha took my mom, yes, ‘my mom’ away from me. “He escaped from me again and this time.”
“You knew him? He’s a wind Sylph.” I said. My mom and dad behind me.
“Yes of course, my dear.” She sat in her chair without looking at me, “And do you know what’s more intriguing about him?”
“Enough!!!” My father bellowed. “We are leaving.”
“What?! We were just starting. I think you know him too Mr. Castor.” She said to my dad. I feel the hands of my mom trembling on my shoulders.
“What is she talking about Justin?” my mom asked.
                                              “Nothing.” Myfather replied.
Myrtha studied my dad with her sharp keen eyes. “I think Mr. Elly Castor here heard something. Why don’t you share it to us?” She smiled. The daring evil looking smile.
My breathing suddenly went heavier than usual. I begun to sweat and I can’t open my mouth. It feels like if I opened my mouth, my soul would escape and fly to Neverlands.
“Ma’am. With all due respect. We have to leave now.” My dad insisted.
“Are you afraid of what are we going to talk about?”
                                              “No-“
“Do you wish to tell anything?”
                                              “No-“
“Are you hinding something?” this time, Myrtha moved closer to us, pulling her chair while still sitting.
                                              “I’m not hiding anything!”
“Then why are so nervous? It’s like going back to this world brings back memories. Am I right, Mr. Justin Castor?”
“I said enough.” I never heard my father as firmly angry as this.  “Can’t you just open that door and let us leave!
