Secretary Choi shifted the typewriter bag uncomfortably in her lap as the police car pulled into the parking lot of the next town's hospital. Jungwon sat in silence beside her and kept reminding himself to take the typewriter when they had to get out of the car.
"Detective Ahn told me to warn you," Secretary Choi spoke up and Jungwon hummed, "You can't do a harsh questioning like you would do with any other suspect or witness."
"I know how to question victims," Jungwon murmured quietly, "as long as she's awake then it'll be easy enough to question her."
"That's not what I mean... she stopped breathing briefly... she had Cerebral Hypoxia," Secretary Choi slowly pointed out as the car came to a stop, "she takes a while to answer. You cannot get her to do any movement, her arms and legs are a tad bit uncoordinated."
"Is she in retraining?" Jungwon questioned and Secretary Choi hummed quietly.
"She's forgotten a few things though," she answered carefully, "she couldn't type on her typewriter or remember ever owning one the other day when I stopped by to ask her if it was normal it did that weird clicking noise when I type the 'O'. She had no idea where I had gotten the typewriter."
Jungwon hummed thoughtfully before reaching over and grabbing the typewriter bag before getting out of the car.
Secretary Choi showed the way once they got inside of the hospital, having announced their arrival at the front desk of course. Letting them go up to Jiyeon's room to warn her about the visitors.
The moment Secretary Choi stepped into Jiyeon's room she immediately smiled and wandered over to grab a table and a chair from a nearby bed that still was empty.
"Hi sweetie, how are you doing today?" Secretary Choi questioned and sat down on her chair looking over at Jiyeon with a wide smile. Jiyeon took a good second or more of just staring at Secretary Choi, quietly shoving her hands under her butt to sit on them.
"Alright," she whispered and Secretary Choi nodded before glancing over at Jungwon, who closed the door carefully and wandered over to hand Secretary Choi the bag with the typewriter, "Detective Yang will just ask you a few questions, and you can take however much time you want to answer. You don't even have to answer."
"Where's the two others?" Jiyeon murmured and glanced up at Jungwon before turning to look at Secretary Choi, "There was... uhm... the tall one... and the one with the glasses."
"They had to go home early," Secretary Choi excused as Jungwon let his eyes dart about and noticed the dark blue lines that ran over Jiyeon's wrists and around her neck. A bruise looked to be forming on her left cheekbone, "but I promise you Detective Yang here will be nice. I promise."
"No need to worry Miss Young," Jungwon hummed with a small smile and extended his hand towards her.
Once Jiyeon simply stared at it instead of lifting a hand to shake it Jungwon quietly nodded and shoved his hand back into his pocket. Glancing over at Secretary Choi and checking if she was ready with the typewriter.
"Do you remember how you ended up in the pine forest?" Jungwon questioned and Jiyeon only glanced up at him before looking to Secretary Choi. She took her time on the typewriter as Jiyeon sat in silence.
"I was at school... then... I was walking home and then..." Jiyeon trailed off quietly, "I... something thin... uhm... like... like a string - grabbed my neck," Jiyeon murmured and Secretary Choi nodded calmly once she noticed Jiyeon was staring at her, "and I... hit the ground. Then he... dragged me away and then I didn't see anything... uhm... then when I saw something everything was dark. The sun was down... and my coat was gone. My shoes were gone... and I was walking in the snow, like uhm... my hands were tied behind my back and... he pulled me with my hands... yeah..."
"And when you didn't see anything, do you know what happened around you?" Jungwon questioned and Jiyeon sat in silence for a while before eventually shaking her head, "do you remember who used the string or who took you into the forest?"
"It was... the same person," Jiyeon slowly nodded, "I uhm... I think I know his face."
"You don't have to... we have him in custody," Jungwon assured and Jiyeon continued to nod in silence, "he's gonna be away for a long time."
"That's good..." she murmured.
"Right... Mrs. Choi let's get going," Jungwon excused and looked over at Secretary Choi, who almost looked startled at Jungwon already finishing the questioning.
She didn't comment on it but only smiled at Jiyeon before getting up from her chair and carefully started to pack away the typewriter. Jiyeon watched in silence before glancing up at Secretary Choi.
"I think I used to have one like that," Jiyeon remarked, "once..."
"I'm sure you did," Secretary Choi hummed, "get some rest, I'll come by with a dinner for you later."
Jiyeon nodded quietly and watched as Jungwon and Mrs. Choi left. They were only halfway down the hallway in the hospital before Jungwon wordlessly reached over and offered to carry the bag.
"It was a short questioning," Secretary Choi remarked.
"She's a shell of a human, I can barely get more information out of her... even if I tried," Jungwon murmured.
"She explained as much as she could remember about how she ended up in the forest," Secretary Choi defended.
"If it was the same person that took her and was in the forest with her then I can't get any of the new information that I need," Jungwon shortly replied and rushed on.
"I don't think you should think too much about her not shaking your han-"
"Who said I was thinking about it? She's clearly still affected by the whole thing and with time she'll remember more things. She already started to comment on the typewriter."
Mrs. Choi glanced over at Jungwon as he walked out of the hospital. She was trailing right behind him.
"I'll go back north tonight. Detective Ahn should have enough evidence for the suspect. Get him a plea deal offer. Can he tell you where Yoo is, you can cut his sentence with a year or two," Jungwon murmured, "Yoo is the dangerous one in this case."
"You'll leave?" Secretary Choi questioned and Jungwon nodded quietly. He'd have to.
