Her eyes were harshly fixed on the phone in front of her. Impatiently tapping her fingers up and down on the kitchen counter. Not really regarding Jungwon, who was busy looking through all the papers and files he had gotten delivered just an hour ago.

"You're gonna drive yourself nuts if you continue to sit there," Jungwon casually remarked from the dining table.

"Worth it," Jiyeon remarked and Jungwon stopped through his reading and glanced up at her, "you know... you can also come over here and help me. I could need some assistance for this."

"Could or would?" she retorted.

When Jungwon glanced over at her, she was already looking over at him with a small snicker. She knew what she had said. She knew it very well.

"You're mean," Jungwon remarked.

"And you're first finding that out now?" Jiyeon asked in mock disbelief, "I thought you'd deducted that ages ago."

"I wouldn't have to," Jungwon shook his head and Jiyeon turned her head back to look down at her phone, "just work with me."

"It's a pity hire," Jiyeon stubbornly shook her head, her cheeks squishing up against her cheeks.

"Jiyeon."

Jiyeon let out a huff at Jungwon's stern tone and turned to look back over at him. He was simply sitting still, a file in hand, extended to her. Slowly a small smile started spreading on his face.

"I know you want to," he remarked and waved the file around, her eyes following it closely, "come on~"

"Brandy?"

"Cognac, top left cupboard."

Jiyeon squinted her eyes at him. Eventually, she abruptly got up from her seat and wandered over to the cupboards, reaching for the top left one and opening it. Almost immediately her face fell and she turned to face Jungwon with an arched brow.

"You didn't ask for shelf."

"You don't even reach the top shelf!" Jiyeon complained loudly.

"That's not true!" Jungwon gasped in return and dropped his arm down.

"You barely reach above my head!"

"I'm at least twenty centimetres taller than you!"

"Barely!"

"I'm not taking the job without that one," she crossed her arms and nodded her head backwards. Gesturing towards the cognac bottle on the top shelf in the cupboard.

"Tsk tsk tsk, have I let an alcoholic into my apartment?" Jungwon questioned and got up from his chair, casually wandering over and reaching the bottle with ease, "told you I could get it."

"Sure, whatever," Jiyeon hummed and reached for the bottle before glancing up and noticing just how close they were standing, "anything else?"

"No," he murmured quietly and gently passed the bottle into her hand, "I want a glass as well. Ice."

"Weak," she remarked with a small chuckle. Immediately he cocked his head to the side with an arched brow.

"You take it neat?" he questioned in amusement.

"The best way," she hummed calmly, "some of us actually become adults."

"Barely, listen to yourself," he snickered and she shrugged.

"Says the guy who's fighting his hormones right now."

"Am I?"

"Mhm," Jiyeon hummed quietly, "dilated pupils, diverting eyes. Smile, lowering your voice. Oh, what's that? Are your fingers grazing at my hip?" Jiyeon questioned and tilted her head slightly to the side and first then did Jungwon notice his free hand brushing back and forth on Jiyeon's hip, his other leaning against the counter, "you want me to continue?"

"Continue however much you need until you realise you could work with me," he shrugged, "you want to continue?"

"Hm... but is it love or lust? Could be both," Jiyeon murmured, "are you in love with me Mr. Yang?" she gasped dramatically before grinning widely at the mock.

"Whatever have you thinking that Miss Young?" he chuckled.

"I don't think you've noticed, but you've leaned quite close," she let out a small laugh, almost laying down on the kitchen table and still not further from Jungwon than just before, "are you gonna kiss me or no?"

"Would be very unprofessional of me," he shook his head and straightened up, running a hand through his hair. A small smirk stayed on his face as he watched her straighten up as well, "I'm not even sure you're done hating me yet."

"Hm... give it a few cups," Jiyeon shrugged and turned to find some cups in one of the cupboards.

While Jungwon returned to the table he kept an eye on Jiyeon's back as she poured a cup of cognac for each of them. Rummaging through the freezer until she found a bag of ice, which she only put in one of the cups.

"For the little kid," Jiyeon remarked and placed the iced cognac down in front of Jungwon before sitting down in the other chair, "so what contract do I sign?"

"You already signed the apartment," Jungwon shrugged and took a sip before looking over at me, "next thing will be you smoking."

"What? 'cause I prefer it neat?" Jiyeon let out a small laugh and Jungwon only shrugged, "You've already deducted it."

"Why'd you stop?" Jungwon frowned.

"Expensive hobby as a student," Jiyeon snickered with a small shrug, "it wasn't good for me either I suppose. Not really for anyone actually. Uh yeah... stopped a month or so before you were called down there."

"Impressive."

"Thanks."

Jiyeon stayed quiet as she stared down into her cup. Meanwhile, Jungwon just kept staring at her. She had stopped smoking because a family member had died of lung cancer, he knew that much, but if she didn't say it he shouldn't ask. That much he had learned.

"And I'm up to 462 books now. Thought I'd give you the update," she murmured.

"Do we need to go buy you a new bookshelf then?" he cleared his throat and looked back down into one of his files.

"No... I've gotten a few shelves up on the walls. It'll be fine," she murmured and slid the file he had been waving around at her, across the table and into her lap, before she started to flick through it. The cognac glass in her hand the whole time as she kept taking endless sips from it.

By the end of the night Jungwon was impressed by the fact she had only filled the cup up once, and still had managed to sip from it so many times.
