It was only Jiyeon who was properly awake when a series of knocks were on the door. A small frown on her face before she wandered out to open the door, coming face to face with an older man and woman.
"I'm sorry, we're not taking any new cases at the moment," Jiyeon excused and the two adults only let out a small laugh.
"No new cases," the man chuckled, "but a visit from his parents surely wouldn't hurt the detective."
"His parents?" Jiyeon raised both her eyebrows as the man gently pushed her aside and his way into the apartment, the woman sending Jiyeon a kind smile before following.
"Is he not up yet?" the man turned to Jiyeon, almost pivoting in the middle of the living room.
"Is this couch new?" his wife questioned instead and touched the couch Jiyeon had replaced Jungwon's arm chair with.
"Uh... I'll go check," Jiyeon murmured before rushing down towards their rooms.
Standing awfully close to Jungwon's door she quickly knocked and noted a faint smell of coffee on his door.
"I am dressed," Jungwon called out and Jiyeon quickly opened the door and rushed inside.
"Your parents are here," she murmured and closed the door behind her.
"My parents?" Jungwon frowned and looked up from his desk in the room and she quickly nodded.
Jiyeon's eyes wandered and eventually noticed a large noticeboard on one wall. Different things pinned up on it from the last case. Her eyes eventually landing on a picture of herself sitting on the couch and reading a book, almost looking like it was taken from outside the building.
"Hello? Are you hearing me?" Jungwon questioned and snapped his fingers in front of her eyes. Snickering slightly when Jiyeon looked over at him.
"Hm?"
"I asked if you knew why my parents were here?" Jungwon questioned.
"I don't think your mum likes our couch," Jiyeon murmured.
"Our couch? I thought it was yours," Jungwon snickered in amusement and closed his notebook on the desk, "considering how we moved my arm chair in here."
"I've never seen your room before," she remarked and Jungwon glanced around the room.
"You can't exactly be surprised, can you?" Jungwon questioned and Jiyeon shrugged, "do they intimidate you? My parents?"
"A heads up would've been nice," Jiyeon shrugged, "are you serious? Your parents? They just show up?"
"Your parents don't?" he questioned casually.
"My parents don't even live in the fucking country anymore," Jiyeon hissed and Jungwon frowned before glancing her up and down.
"Japan," he stated and she blinked a few times at him, "what? Am I wrong?"
"Okay, but you can't possibly have deducted that from looking at me," Jiyeon pointed out.
"No. But you have a Japanese book on your bookshelf. There's a small stack of post cards depicting Japanese sights on your desk, and the tea in our cupboard, you can only get in Japan," he shrugged, "if you don't want to talk to them I'll make up a lie."
"But won't they..."
"My parents are far too distracted to notice the things I do. They'll believe me in a heartbeat," Jungwon shook his head in amusement, "if anything, go into your room and I'll tell them you're working. and that'll be it."
"Promise?"
Jungwon let out a small laugh at the sight of Jiyeon anxiously pressing up against the door.
