The door clicked lightly as Jiyeon closed it and turned the lock. Jungwon placed their bags by the door with a dull dump, his attention turning to Jiyeon once she turned on the living room lights. She had been sleeping the whole train ride home.
"Mrs Mae ordered food for us. Texted me while you slept," he finally spoke up.
"That's nice. Do you know what she ordered?" Jiyeon murmured, pulling the curtains.
"Curry... if I remember correctly," he shrugged and Jiyeon turned around with an amused look on her face.
"If you're lucky" she corrected and wandered back to him, "or just getting your wildest dreams fulfilled."
"My wildest dream is that people will start leaving you alone."
"Well, if they started to do that what fun would we have?" Jiyeon chuckled and threw her arms up and around his neck - gently playing with the hair at his nape, "besides I have my big-bad-detective to protect me."
"From what I know that's hardly needed by now," Jungwon retorted with a small snicker. One of his hands reaching up to rub up and down her left arm, "pinned a criminal to the wall and all."
"And yet, you still treat me as if I'm a piece of porcelain. I'm quite sturdy, you know?" she questioned. He nodded.
"And you've given your longest testimony to date this morning, so I suggest we eat dinner and go to bed," he replied.
Jiyeon glanced down for a short second, hummed lowly, and then glanced up at him again. Her eyes slightly squinted and eyebrows furrowed.
"Have you stopped deducting me?" she questioned and he shook his head. Bangs bouncing back and forth.
"Never did. I just let you tell me what you want me to know instead of telling you," he muttered.
"So you know?" she questioned and he nodded - breathing out a small 'I know' that sent Jiyeon into her thoughts.
"It's fine," he assured and picked a strand of her hair to move from her face, "known since the day we took the train down south."
"So it's alright that I love you?" she questioned and smiled slightly.
"Of cour- what?" he frowned and Jiyeon did the exact same, "you love me?"
"That's now what you knew?" Jiyeon questioned and pulled her arms down, hands stopping on his shoulders.
"I thought you were talking about helping Sunoo with Lin's case," Jungwon commented, "you love me?"
"Why would I hide that I'm helping Sunoo?" Jiyeon frowned even more - if possible.
"How would I know?" he retorted, "YOU LOVE ME?!"
"Jesus fucking Christ Jungwon!" I thought you knew!" Jiyeon exclaimed.
"Yeah, about Sunoo. But you love me?" he repeated.
"Oh my god, this is actually worse than my nightmares," she laughed in disbelief and let her hands drop.
Quickly Jungwon had grabbed her hands and thrown them back onto his shoulders. A wide grin on his face as one hand pulled her closer.
"Have you forgotten you deducted your way? You already know I love you as well," Jungwon chuckled.
"It's not like you say or do much to prove me right," she excused with a shrug, still slightly panicked.
"Well then... Ji, I love you," he smiled gently and bent his head further down towards hers, "so very much. Sometimes I embarrass myself. It's impossible for me to find a second, where I don't love you. Awake or asleep."
"I love you too, Won," she muttered, his smile widening even more.
"Good," he chuckled and pressed a soft kiss to her lips.
The second he parted from her she was leaning with him, chasing his lips for a second. Momentarily she stopped herself, fluttered her eyes open, glanced at his smile, and then up at his eyes.
"I'm not a fragile piece of porcelain," she remembered.
"What if I am?" he whispered in return and she leaned back down onto flat feet. Letting her heels come in contact with the floor once again, "I'm kissing, come here."
Quickly he tugged on her wrist, letting her fall against him, where his other arm secured her waist in place. Wrapping around her and pulling her as close as possible. His mouth swallowed her shocked gasp immediately.
Something about the way her hands grabbed onto his shoulders and then slowly slid over behind his neck to pull him closer, transported Jungwon back to the first time they kissed over a year ago. She felt the same now, under his hands, as she did then. Acting like he couldn't get close enough.
Still, he let out a small laugh when he felt a small nibble on his bottom lip. Pulling his head back slightly he looked down at her with a smirk, while she innocently smiled and feigned ignorance with how she looked at him.
"Are you teasing me?" Jungwon almost whispered.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you imagining things?" Jiyeon grinned in return.
"Did you just bite my lip?" he quirked a brow down at her.
"So what if I did? Is that a crime?" she retorted. When Jungwon didn't say anything and just looked down at her in amusement she hummed and quirked a brow in return, "admit it... you liked it," she whispered.
A snort escaped Jungwon once he shook his head in disbelief. His movements slowly halted and he just looked at her, a soft smile printed on her face.
"So what if I did?" he murmured.
"You could just admit it then," she shrugged.
"I could," he hummed, "I don't think I would though."
"For once you wouldn't."
"Maybe."
"Hmm... you're a mean one," her eyes squinted up at him.
"And yet, you still love me."
"Maybe I have a thing for mean ones," she excused casually.
"Sounds like something you should work on. A therapist perhaps?"
"I could," she hummed with a small nod, "I wouldn't though," her nose scrunched up momentarily before her fingers threaded through his hair and brushed some of his hair away, "but if we're done here then I'll go wash up before dinner."
"Who said we're done?" Jungwon frowned.
"No one. You're just usually more talk than action," she snickered.
"You're gonna eat your words," he warned.
"Actually you are," she corrected.
"Right, I am."
Quickly he leaned down to her again, just as she were about to reply. True to his words, her next words were swallowed by both of them by the time Jiyeon felt her back lean against the wall beside the door. Her hands pulled him closer, fingers laced behind his neck.
A small laugh escaped both of them when he had tugged gently on her lower lip. A breathy 'mean' escaped Jiyeon before their lips latched onto each other again.
"Jungwon, your dinners are- YOU TWO!" Mrs Mae's sudden opening of the door had the two separating faster than light. Mrs Mae Stared at them like a shocked mom, "At least eat something that's not the other's face."
"Someone had to make him swallow his words," Jiyeon let out a laugh, despite her hot cheeks.
With a gaping mouth Mrs Mae handed Jungwon the dinners and abruptly left. Immediately Jiyeon let out a laugh.
"Just to be clear, it was your words I swallowed," Jungwon remarked with a chuckle as Jiyeon calmed down.
"Whatever will make you sleep at night, Yang," she hummed, "I'll wash up real quick, alright?"
Jiyeon picked up her bag and pecked Jungwon's pink cheek before rushing down to the bathroom. His eyes following her as far as they could before he even thought about reheating the food in the boxes Mrs Mae had given him.
