Summer
It was a mere bank robbery, supposedly. Someone had broken into the main office, hacked the computer, and transferred all the money out to who knows where. A few regular policemen were standing about awkwardly and glancing between the two detectives.
"Could you at least look like you didn't mind doing this?" Jiyeon questioned and turned the desk, glancing at the computer screen before glancing over at Jungwon, who was looking up and down the door that had been broken open. Supposedly.
"It's boring," he muttered and she hummed.
"Still."
"But it's so boring," he complained, "a bank robbery, really? That's what they call us for?"
Jungwon had turned to Jiyeon with a look of disbelief on his face. Disregarding the three police officers that uncomfortably shifted their weight at the ridicule of them.
"They can't figure out a fucking bank robbery themselves? I mean this door wasn't even broken into!" Jungwon loudly complained and gestured to the door. Scowling at it before huffing and wandering over to sit in the desk chair while Jiyeon turned her attention back to the computer screen, "I want a murder."
"Then go out and fix one," Jiyeon hummed casually.
"Too easy to solve," Jungwon sneered in return.
"Well, dammit Jungwon. What do you want me to do?" Jiyeon sighed and looked over her shoulder.
"I don't know... tell a joke or something," Jungwon shrugged, ignoring the snicker that had appeared on Jiyeon's face.
"Well... then take a look at the transaction information that just popped up," Jiyeon murmured and straightened up.
Jungwon glanced up at her with a dismayed frown. Eventually, he kicked the chair over to the desk and let his eyes dart around on the screen a few times. Jiyeon quietly pointed to the line she wanted Jungwon to read.
"Bingo," she murmured before letting out a small chuckle.
"Oh you're kidding me," he murmured before letting out a small laugh as well.
"Stop it, this is a crime scene," Jiyeon hushed and smacked his shoulder, holding a hand up to her mouth as if to act all shocked but secretly giggling away underneath it, "be serious."
"Be serious? Have you heard yourself, Miss Young?" Jungwon retorted with a chuckle before abruptly standing up from the chair.
Quickly he adjusted his coat and ruffled his hair up a bit. All three police officers turned around as if to check on what announcement might come. Meanwhile, Jiyeon had to turn her back to them and quickly compose herself.
"The case is solved lads," Jungwon declared, "the director seems to have given himself quite a bonus. Left it right on the screen and all."
"I have to get out," Jiyeon whispered and Jungwon only nodded as he patted her wrist with a finger for her to start walking out. Jungwon was right behind her.
"And don't bother with the door. It wasn't broken into. Amateur mix-up really. I'll be expecting those paychecks by Monday!" he finalised and rushed Jiyeon out of the bank.
The few people who had stopped to watch in curiosity why there were police cars in front of the bank were only met by a confusing sight. The two detectives immediately broke into a fit of laughter.
"Goodness, how stupid do you have to be?" Jiyeon complained and wiped a stray tear away from her eyes, "it was right there!"
"Not everyone is cut out to be a criminal," Jungwon hushed as he called over a taxi and quickly pushed her inside. Both continue to find the mistake hilarious.
"So... boring?" Jiyeon questioned once she had managed to calm down a little bit.
"Eh... a bit funny by now," Jungwon shrugged and looked back at her, "easy money."
"And the evening off," Jiyeon hummed with a content smile.
"We should do something," Jungwon declared, getting her attention right away, "it's been a while since we actually did something."
"And what do you mean by us doing something?" Jiyeon questioned in amusement.
"Do a couple thing," he shrugged, noticing the glance the taxi driver gave them through the rear-view mirror.
"Any ideas my big bad detective?"
"I think... for once... it would be a good idea if we cook some food tonight. Either together or just me," Jungwon offered.
"So together. I'm not letting you murder me now," Jiyeon hummed and Jungwon quickly waved it off.
"So we cook something together and do absolutely nothing but just... you know... enjoy that we actually have time."
"I could do that," Jiyeon hummed with a small nod.
Jungwon hummed with a small nod. For a good few seconds, they were just nodding and smiling at one another. The taxi driver eventually feeling relief in letting them off at the apartment. Both quickly greeted Mrs Mae before rushing up the stairs and into their apartment.
Closing the apartment door Jungwon sent Jiyeon a glare as she flopped down onto their couch. A loud sigh escaped her as she rubbed her forehead.
"Tired?" he questioned and she hummed immediately, "you did solve the case today. In what? Two hours?"
"One and a half," Jiyeon corrected, "I didn't even solve it. He basically turned himself in."
Jungwon hummed before wandering over and casually flopped down on top of her. A loud gasp escaped Jiyeon as he knocked all the air out of her before pressing up onto his elbows to look down at her.
"So dramatic," he remarked with a frown.
"You're heavy," she complained.
"Oya! I ain't," he retorted.
"Sure, sure," Jiyeon hummed, "did you think about the speed you were falling with though? Your impact weight is gonna be more than your actual weight. Basic physics, Won."
"Oooh miss smartypants," Jungwon mocked, only earning a raised eyebrow from him, "go rest in bed. I'll fix dinner."
"You're gonna bu-" Jiyeon started.
"I will make a bolognese. I've gotten quite good at that by now, no?" he quickly defended and she let out a small sigh, "go rest, alright?"
"Alright," she murmured and he smiled.
Quickly he pressed a small kiss to her forehead before placing one on her lips as well. Her fingers quickly laced behind his neck, ensuring he didn't get too far away.
"We're gonna need dinner," he reminded and she nodded.
"Just thirty minutes," she offered, "we can rest together for thirty minutes and then we can cook."
"We both know that won't end up like that," Jungwon pointed out, "we'll be too lazy to cook by then, and what do we eat then? From the convenience store. You go rest. I'll get dinner ready."
Jiyeon had to admit she was defeated. He was right - for once. Slowly she let go of him and he pulled her up from the couch. Urging her to go down into bed with a few more kisses. Silently he watched with a small smile as she wandered down to her old room that they now shared. Quickly she glanced back at him before smiling as well, something passing between them in complete silence. She went to go rest while Jungwon cooked.
