Murder Drones: Interstellar Annihilation (Previously Insanity)

-Part 8-

It was another dark, gloomy and snowy night on Copper - 9. The wind whistled as the snow fell from above, dancing around in the air. Thad made his way through the snow, his green visor and a flashlight luminating the way for him. Eventually, he bumped into the pod, and knocked on the door.

Thad: "..Uzi-!" He called out.

There was a faint sound of footsteps on metal, and eventually, the door opened.

Uzi: "..Yes?" She looked down at Thad. "Thad-? What are you doing here?"

Thad: "Can I come inside first?"

Uzi nodded, moving over for Thad, the two entering the pod. Thad waved at N and V, they waved back.

Uzi: "Well what did you want to tell me?" 

Thad: "..Oh-! Well, we need you back at the colony, it's important."

Uzi: "Really? What's going on?" She tilted her head, confused.

Thad: "..Well it's hard to describe, can you just come with me? N and V can come with." He gestured over to them

Uzi: "Fine.. fine." She nodded. "C'mon you two."

S.D V: "Alright." V got up, yanking N onto his feet.

S.D N: "..Hey-! But okay-" He gave a thumbs up. Thad exited the pod along with the other three, as they began traversing Copper - 9. It took approximately ten minutes to arrive. Thad rummaged through his pocket, before pulling out the door master key, using it on the door's panel.

Uzi: "Let me guess, my dad let you have it."

Thad: "..Yeah well unlike you, I ask." He chuckled a bit, shaking his head. "C'mon, we can't waste any time." He led them through each door, and then through a hallway. The faint sound of the doors closing would be heard, echoing throughout the colony, which seemed to be pretty much empty at this point, a few drones walking around.

Thad: "Wait here." He opened up a door, walking in. 

Uzi: "Alright.." She nodded, slightly skeptical

After around two minutes, Thad walked back over. 

Thad: "..Alright, c'mon." He signaled for them to follow him

Uzi, N, and V followed Thad into the room, before stopping at a second pair of doors.

Thad: "..Alright Uzi, brace yourself!"

Thad now slowly opened the doors, and behind them, a dark, large room.

Uzi: "..Isn't this the auditori-"

Suddenly the lights flickered on, and a few seconds later, and a few heads popped up.

Other Drones: "Surprise-!" Multiple voices roared, echoing through the room. There was a large banner hanging off the roof, with the words 'Goodbye Uzi!' written on it, balloons, table clothes with vibrant colors, and other forms of decorations appropriate to the occasion were cluttered around the room, with some snacks, such as batteries laid out in bowls on one of the tables.

Uzi: "..ROBO-JESU- WHAT THE HELL?!" She was taken a back a bit, stumbling. V and N flinched, nearly switching to their blades, however they kept themselves together. 

Thad: "..Well, what do you think?"

Uzi: "How did you do this-? I'm not friends with most of them-"

Thad: "I convinced them." He chuckled, adjusting his cap. "C'mon, let's go sit down." He gestured to N and V, signaling them to follow. They walked over to a table, all of them sitting down. Lizzy approached.

Lizzy: "..Hey V, can you come over here? I gotta go show you to my friends. Oh, and bring N."

S.D V: "Yeah, sure. C'mon N." She nodded, getting up and walking off with Lizzy, N following the two.

Thad: "..Well then, guess It's just us." He said, taking a battery and eating it.

Uzi: "..Yeah..-" She said, nervously, nodding. "..I won't have to give a speech, right?"

Thad: "Not if you don't want to." He shook his head.

Uzi: "Alright, good." She sighed in relief.

Thad: "..You're dad's also here." He said, chuckling a bit, nervously.

Uzi: "So..?" Uzi tilted her head.

Thad: "He wanted to spend time with you, since y'know, you're going to Earth and all." 

Uzi took a few seconds to nod. Khan walked over, but decided to hang back a bit, listening in.

Thad: "What's.." He paused. "What's wrong."

Uzi: "Nothing! Nothing." She shook her head laughing forcefully. Khan walked over.

Khan: "Thad.. let me talk to her, alright? Go to your friends."

Thad nodded and moved out of the chair, walking over to a group of workers. Khan had a seat, and cleared his throat.

Khan: "Now that your boyfriend's gone.."

Uzi: "He isn't my boyfriend-!" She groaned, pulling the beanie over her visor.

Khan chuckled.

Khan: "Yes.. yes.. but." He cleared his throat again. "You hesitated when he mentioned Earth."

Uzi: "Just tired, is all-!" She moved her beanie over her visor.

Khan: "..Don't lie to me Uzi.."

Uzi: "I'm not-!"

Khan: "..Uzi." He repeated.

Uzi: "Fine.. fine." She sighed. "I'm just nervous.."

Khan: "About what-?"

Uzi: "..And scared.. like, what if I don't come back? What if i don't succeed, and disappoint all of you?"

Khan: "Uzi.. Uzi.." He stammered a bit. "Look, I.. still don't want you to go if I'm being honest, but I won't stop you.. I mean, it was your dream since you were a kid, and well.. I find it pretty cool, if I'm being honest."

Uzi: "..Never say 'cool' again dad.."

Khan: "Fine fine-!" He laughed. "But really, it takes a lot of courage to do something as big as that, and I respect it, as much as I don't want you to leave." He paused. "..Look, you won't get anywhere if you give up because you're scared, alright? Just think about it, you have V and N, and your genius inventions! you three are almost unstoppable."

Uzi: "Yeah, I understand.." She nodded. "I suppose you're right."

Khan: "Great, great. I'm glad you agree." He smiled, twirling his mustache. "Now go on and hang out with Thad, or N and V." Khan got up, taking a handful of batteries from one of the bowls and eating it. "And hey, if you ever need me, or anyone else to help you with something, just call us and let us know, okay?"

Uzi: "Sure dad, sure." She got up, and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him. Khan flinched a bit, but eventually gave in to the hug. "..I love you dad."

Khan: "I love you too.. your mother would be so proud!" 

Uzi pulled away.

Uzi: "Thanks.. I'll be with my friends, just come get me if you need anything."

Khan: "Alright." He nodded.

Uzi walked away to Thad, who by now was with N, the three beginning to talk. V was still with Lizzy, and some of her friends including doll. Khan looked at Uzi, before walking over to her teacher.

Khan: "She sure is impressive, eh?" He said, pouring himself a cup of oil.

Teacher: "..Meh, guess so." He shrugged.

Khan: "Are you ever not bored-?"

Teacher: "..Meh.."

Khan: "..Alright.." He took a sip.

The party continued, everyone having a great time, and even one of Lizzy's friends, Rebecca, asking N out, which didn't turn out greatly. Uzi talked to N and Thad, the three joining in with Lizzy and V's group, all of them surprisingly getting along, Uzi smiling for almost the entire time.
