Murder Drones: Interstellar Annihilation (Previously Insanity)

-Part 19-

N and V continued to fly, the night nearly over. They were in a race against time. N was getting tired, Uzi still on his back. 

S.D N: "How..-" He panted. "How much longer-?"

S.D V: "I dunno-" She sighed. "Is Uzi even awake?"

N shook his head.

S.D V: "Goddamni- Is that.. light?" 

S.D N: "Hm?" N looked forwards, spotting what seemed to be a large town.

V  looked back at the ship.

S.D V: "It's landing there..-"

S.D N: "So we can take a break now, right?"

V nodded, the two now diving back to the ground. Soon, Uzi woke up.

Uzi: "Eh..?" She yawned. "Why are we on the ground-?"

S.D N: "We found a settlement, and better yet, the ship's landing there!"

Uzi: "Really?"

S.D V: "Mhm.. we're going to let N rest for a bit, then we'll head over."

Uzi: "Alright.." She glanced over at N, who by now was lying down on the floor. She chatted with V a bit, and then looked at the sun. The three now walked off into a small cave they found, and waited there till night returned. Several hours passed, the sun replaced by the moon, and the light replaced by a eerie, and black darkness. N, V and Uzi emerged from the cave, and began moving towards the settlement quietly. They reached what seemed to be the edge of it, it was no town, it was more a dock really, crates scattered around the area, accompanied with several hundred, or even thousand workers, and some vehicles. The three hid behind a crate, Uzi poking her head out, and examining the area.

Uzi: "Alright." She turned back. "Do you two remember the plan?"

They both nodded.

Uzi: "Okay, let's go."

They now dashed behind another crate, taking a few seconds to make sure no one saw them, before doing it again, and again, soon reaching a small building. They entered, and inside was a single person, a human.

Human: "What the hell..?" He looked over to them, and reached for his pistol. V ran over and switched to her blade, slicing his head clean off.

S.D N: "V-!" His eyes widened.

S.D V : "We can't take any risks, N." She sighed, kicking the body under a desk.

Uzi: "N.. just, go with it, I guess.."

S.D N: "Whuh..- But..-"

Uzi: "N.. I'm sorry that happened but.. please."

S.D N: "Fine.. fine." He sighed, nodding.

Uzi walked over to a computer, rummaging through her pocket, and pulling out a USB stick, inserting it into one of it's many ports. Suddenly, the computer opened, completely skipping the log in screen. She put in another USB stick, transferring some information into it, before removing it, and storing it safely in her pocket.

Uzi: "Let's get out of here." 

They now proceeded to swiftly and quietly exit the small building through a backdoor. Uzi looked around, making sure the coast is clear, before they pushed further into the area. They all stopped behind one crate, due to two people talking. It was H, and a human. The human seemed to have a small box with him.

S.D H: "Alright, let me see what's inside, standard check." She took the box from him and opened it, observing the contents, before she closed it and handed it back. "Move along." The human nodded, taking the box, and doing as he was told.'

The text 'How are we going to get passed her?' appeared on N's visor. Uzi shook her head, shrugging. 

S.D W: "HEY! H!" He called out.

S.D H: "Yeah?"  She responded.

S.D W: "COME OVER HERE!"

S.D H: "Alright-" She now ran over to W.

S.D V: "C'mon, let's be quick."

They ran by were H was standing, hiding behind another crate. N looked around, his eyes set on the ship.

S.D N:"There it is-" He pointed

Uzi looked in the direction and nodded.

S.D V: "Let's get going."

They continued to traverse through the area, avoiding spotlights, and getting in the line of site of drones and humans alike. They soon reached a larger building, seemingly were crates are stored. They crawled through a vent shaft, big enough for them, and silently exited it in what seemed to be a storage closet. Uzi peaked through the keyhole, observing the area she could see.

Uzi: "Alright, looks like they're currently unloading some crates.. we'll hide in one."

S.D V: "What about food, genius?"

Uzi: "I got an idea." Uzi slowly opened the door, and pulled a worker in, not a sentient one of course, due to the fact it was not Copper - 9. N sliced it's head off and gave V half of the limbs, taking the other half for themselves. "Should be enough for like.. five days."

S.D V: "Alright then." She shrugged. They all suddenly stopped talking, someone was coming. The footsteps grew louder, until they stopped, seemingly right outside the door. 

S.D G: "Is anyone in there?" He asked, puzzled.

They all remained quiet. G stood at the door, waiting for answer, repeating his question a few seconds later. After some time, he shrugged, walking off.

Uzi: "That was.. way too close.. Alright, now we move." She signaled for N and V to follow her, she slowly opened the door, the three dashing behind a crate. V climbed on top of it, carefully opening it, before jumping in quietly, Uzi and N doing the same. The crate was dark, and filled with supplies, mainly food and water. The light from each of their visors illuminated the crate, allowing them to see. Soon, they could feel the crate begin to move. 

S.D N: "Wait.. what if they open it up-?"

Uzi: "Well.. we hide under these supplies and hope for the best!"

S.D V: "You didn't think of anything, did you?"

Uzi: "Nope...-"

S.D V: "Well, it's worth a shot."

They all now buried themselves in supplies, switching their visor's off. After around thirty minutes, they could hear the crate opening, they braced for what was to come. The crate was open for roughly five minutes, before a voice called out, 'Clear!', following by the crate closing. They sighed in relief. By now, and hour has passed, they spent the time quietly chatting, which was interrupted by the crate being loaded onto the cruiser.

Uzi: "Well then, once this takes off, we give them hell." A smile curled on her face.
