Chapter 14: Typical Yato

~~Yato POV~~

'What the hell! Who is that guy and more importantly why is Hiyori hanging out with him??' I thought. Jealousy began to spread on my mind. A devilish grin appeared widely on my face as I'm about to do something evilly. As soon as Hiyori left, I quickly jumped off the branch, nowhere in sight.

(Normal POV)

Two hours later

"Hihihi, that was fun." The boy smiled as they sat down on a nearby bench. Little did they know that a dark figure has eyes on them just above their heads, watching every move of what the boy is going to do with Hiyori.

"Did you enjoy Hiyori?" He asked politely,

Hiyori snapped out of reality as she turned to face him, "Mmm Yeah!" She quickly respond as she forced a laugh, "Sorry you were saying something?"

The boy tries to say something but closes it, holding his grudge, "Say Hiyori..." he spoke after a short silence, scratching his ruffled hair, looking down at the ground before he looks up and faces her, "I want to ask you something." He said hesitantly,

"Sure what is it?" She looked at him. Yato, on the other hand, began to look closely at the boy, waiting for his answer. Calmly on the outside but a hint of jealously slowly rises into him.

"Listen, I know that we just met and all and I want to say this so..." he paused for a second, "Is it okay if you would go out with me?"

Silence.

Yato gripped his fist harder.

As the rustled leaves shook off by the wind. That's all they heard.

Yato widened his eyes before he continued, "I mean the three of us, like a triple date. Your friend was the one who invited us, if it's okay with you." After finishing his sentence, Hiyori felt a bit uncomfortable but quickly responded for him to not keep on waiting, "Sure, I'll go." She confirmed, though half of her doesn't.  She put on a fake smile as he said, "Great, we'll see each other tomorrow after school." Right before he walks a few meters away, Hiyori halts him, "Wait, where are we going exactly?"

"To the mall. From what I heard." He said. He turned to Hiyori, "The name's Fujisaki by the way. It was a pleasure meeting you Hiyori." With those words, he left. Hiyori felt a bit guilty since he just know him but felt a bit relieved since it's a triple date.

"You can come out Yato." Hiyori called in a serious tone. Yato suddenly flinched at her tone, "That's not very nice you know."

"Wha-what are you talking about?" He choked out his words, trying to stay calm but its useless.

"Don't try to hide it, I'm not dumb Yato. When are you going to stop stalking me around?" Yato was a bit surprised at her calm manner but a hint of frustration in it. Yato went to her side as Hiyori didn't leave her position.

"You're hooking up a guy already? And I thought you were better than that."

"It's just one night Yato, don't get all jealous,"

"I am not jealous!" He shrieked, cracking his voice,

"Deny all you want but it's obvious you've been tailing me ever since I was looking at hallway window." She said. Yato flinched a little.

'Damn this girl is really sharp.'

There was an awkward silence before Yato spoke, placing his arms on the bench, "Hi-"

"Listen Yato it's just only one day. Don't get your hopes up, alright?" She was a bit surprised at herself despite she said it calmly with no reaction but since she was stressed at school, she doesn't want to make it worse. Especially to Yato.

Yato, who looked at the calm Hiyori straight in the eye, sighed in defeat, "Alright, I'll let you go."

"Thank yo-"

"But only on one condition." She gulped quietly, as Yato said it like a warning, "You bring back souvenirs for us." He finished the sentence, letting Hiyori out a chuckle.

"Alrighty then!" She smiled.

"Good," and just in nick of time, the bell rang meaning recess is over, "you better get going." Yato said it plainly but half of it was a bit of disappointment, "Do you really have to go?" Hiyori asked suddenly,

"Why? Lonely when I'm not around?" Yato teased,

Her cheeks fluttered a bit, "No." She said.

Yato giggled at her reaction. He has to go because of his jobs. He really want to stay longer but Hiyori has to focus on her studies.

"See ya," Saying their goodbye, Hiyori waves at Yato leaving him a bit hurt that she has to go.

A buzz on his pocket snapped Yato to reality as he dragged it out and shoved it back in, teleporting without a sight.

We'll see about that.
