The apartment that Jisoo found for the two of them was in an old residential building near the city centre. Although there was no elevators, the walls were a little old, and the apartment was small, the rent was cheap and it was close to the city. Lisa took a look at the place and decided to rent it.

Most importantly, living here was close to the hospital, so it would be convenient for Lisa to visit her mother.

Since her younger brother’s tuition fees were already paid and he could go to school, the burden of taking care of their mother was placed on Lisa. During the day, Lisa had to go to the hospital to take care of her mother and look for jobs. At night, she had to come back and cook for Jungkook, she was so busy.

Her best friend, Jisoo, also often talked badly about Jungkook. “Lisa, why is your husband not helping at all? He’s just letting you tire yourself out. While you go out to look for jobs, shouldn’t he go to the hospital to take care of your mother instead? You’re letting yourself be a pushover.”

Lisa said as she placed some flowers in a vase, “Jungkook has his own matters to attend to. I can handle it on my own, so I won’t trouble him.”

Jisoo’s impression of Jungkook had always been very bad. When she heard this, she snorted coldly and said bitterly, “Just leave him! I don’t understand what’s so good about a man with no money or ability.”

“Alright, I’m going to go cook. Talk to you next time.” Lisa finished arranging the flowers and looked at the small rented room that was decorated very homely and comfortably. Her lips curved into a smile.

With a click, the door was unlocked. Jungkook came back from his run with a bag of oranges in his hand.

Lisa took the oranges and said with a smile, “Jungkook, see how I’ve tidied up the house?”

Jungkook took off his mask and looked over. The old sofa in the living room was covered with a beige sofa cover. The small table was covered with a grass-green plaid tablecloth. On top of it was a vase of roses. The window was very bright and there was a white translucent curtain hanging down from it.

Even though Jungkook was used to seeing and living in luxurious villas and apartments, he was still amazed by Lisa’s meticulously decorated small house.

Compared to those big houses with luxurious decorations, Jungkook would rather squeeze in this small but comfortable rented house with Lisa.

“It’s very beautiful. I like it very much.” Jungkook smiled and said from the bottom of his heart.

“I’m glad that you like it.” Lisa put on an apron and walked into the small kitchen. She seemed to have thought of something, she stuck her head out again and said, “I passed the interview today. It’s the company where Jisoo works. I can start going to work tomorrow.”

So this was the reason why she was in a good mood today. Jungkook was stunned for a moment and subconsciously asked, “Which company is it? How big Is It? What position do you have?”

She was bombarded by a series of questions. Lisa opened her mouth and was a little embarrassed. “Uh, I just got hired. I’m just a small sales person. I’m not too sure about the rest...”

Seeing Lisa’s troubled expression, Jungkook nodded and said, “Okay, do your best.”

However, on Lisa’s first day at work, a very unfortunate thing happened.

At that time, she had just finished signing her attendance sheet and was following a guidance personnel to her work station. She first knocked on the door of her supervisors’ office to greet them. When she entered, she saw two extremely familiar faces.

Her department supervisor was actually Kai and Krystal!

Kai was her senior in university. He had once launched an ardent pursuit for her for a year and a half, but Lisa had always rejected him. Kai liked to pester her, so she had thought of all ways to avoid him.

The reasons why she did not get together with Kai was firstly because she understood his lust for beauty. He pursued her because she was good-looking, not because he really liked her. Secondly, she was busy with her studies and work during university, she simply did not have the time to date.

Later, she heard that Kai had gotten together with his colleague, Krystal after graduation. She did not expect that they would both be promoted to supervisor.

This awkward situation caused Lisa to be stunned for a few seconds after she entered the office. However, she quickly came back to her senses and said, “Supervisor Zhou, Supervisor Chen, I’m here for work.”

Krystal was a woman with a sharp chin who liked to wear heavy makeup. Perhaps it was because they were a couple, but she was sitting on Kai’s lap. When she saw Lisa enter, she slowly stood up and nodded in response.

Kai naturally recognized Lisa and smiled meaningfully. He took her work permit and glanced at it, saying, “Lisa? I thought the name and surname of our new hire was familiar... I didn’t expect it to really be you. What a coincidence.”

Although Lisa was still a little disgusted by Kai, she still forced a smile for the sake of work. “Yes, what a coincidence.”
