Chapter 104: Thinking of You

 

Lisa tapped on Jungkook’s contact number and hesitated whether she should call him. Suddenly, she received a message from Jungkook.

[Are you asleep?]

[Not yet.] Lisa typed two words in surprise.

[Are you free to call me?]

This time, Lisa did not reply to him. Instead, she called him.

“Hello?”

The man’s deep voice made Lisa’s heart palpitate.

“Jungkook, why aren’t you asleep? It’s almost 12 o’clock.”

Although she was glad that Jungkook texted her right when she wanted to call him, Lisa still nagged at him.

Jungkook leaned against the railing of the balcony and glanced at the few people who were still drinking in the villa. He said to Lisa, “I’m thinking of you. I can’t sleep.”

Jungkook didn’t want to go out tonight, but Taehyung  and the others decided to crash his house. Jungkook had no choice but to follow them out.

As for why Taehyung  was in Jing City? Thinking of this, Jungkook could only sneer.

The reason he gave him was that his father said that in celebration of the resurrection of the young master of the Jeon family, they would hold a welcome back party.

Please! Did he think he would believe him? It was obvious that he came back to party in Jing City.

However, it’s not all bad with Taehyung  here. It would be easier for him to get Taehyung  to do stuff.

Taehyung  did not know of Jeon Jungkook’s plans for him. He was busy trying to persuade the people around him to drink. Suddenly, he shouted at the balcony, “Jeon Jungkook, what are you doing? Hurry back and drink some more wine.”

“What’s that sound from your end?” Lisa seemed to have heard something.

“I’m calling you from the balcony. There are drunk people acting crazy downstairs.”

Jungkook’s ability to lie was getting better and better. Those who did not know the truth would think that what he said was true.

“Oh, I see!”

Lisa nodded in the bathtub. Her arms were moving, and Jungkook heard the sound of water through the phone.

“Are you washing up?” Jungkook asked.

Realizing that she was calling him naked, Lisa’s face instantly changed.

Jungkook realized what was going on. His breathing slowly become heavier. “Taking a bath?”

This time, Lisa did not answer. She was too shy.

Jungkook did not speak for a long time, as if he was trying hard to calm his emotions. Listening to his gradually calming breathing, Lisa’s ears itched.

“I miss you. Do you miss me?”

Lisa wanted to reply him directly when she heard Jungkook’s question, but she also wanted to tease him. “I just left, and you miss me already! If I have to go on business trips more frequently in the future, what are you going to do?”

This question seemed to have really stumped Jungkook. After a while, he said, “I can’t think of anything.”

Lisa laughed out loud at his teasing. Jungkook’s expression became gentler as he listened to her voice.

The problem Lisa mentioned was not difficult to solve. In the future, if she had to go on business trips, he would accompany her. If she felt that her work was too tiring, then the two of them would travel around the world and play around. As long as she was by his side, it would be fine.

“How about this? In the future, I will bring you everywhere and put you in my pocket. You will follow me every step I take.”

The more Lisa teased Jungkook, the more she smiled. The annoyance that she had suppressed in her heart seemed to have disappeared quite a bit.

“Okay, bring me with you wherever you go.”

Jungkook looked at the night sky. He could almost imagine Lisa’s facial expression with every word that Lisa said.

Jungkook waited until Lisa finished laughing before he brought up the matter that he wanted to ask about.

“How do you feel about Lin Group’s project? Is it very difficult to plan for?”

Jungkook was too busy to meet with the Lin family today. From what his subordinates had told him, it seemed that Lin Group had another motive for finding people to cooperate with. He was afraid of the implications it would have on Lisa.

Lisa’s smile instantly froze. However, in order to not make Jungkook worry, she still tried her best to say calmly, “It’s alright. After the field inspection, we can start on the plan.”

No matter how Lisa tried to cover up her feelings, she still couldn’t deceive Jungkook who knew her mannerisms very well.

“Did something happen?” Jungkook asked.

“No! Why are you suddenly asking?”

Lisa wanted to stay calm.

This was so she could calmly organize the information, win arguments with Krystal, tease Jisoo, and praise Soyeon’s appearance.

However, when someone poked on Lisa’s pretense of being strong, the self-blame and grievance that were buried deep in her heart would gush out like a flood, and she would no longer be able to stay rational.

Jungkook did not force her. When she wanted to tell him, he would become a listener.
