Chapter 36: I Was Wrong

 

 

Lisa burst into tears and let out all the frustrations in her heart. Only then did she feel much better. At this moment, she saw that Jungkook was not so angry anymore, so, she told him everything that happened in the company today.

Of course, she omitted the things that happened in the hospital and the Qin family’s jewellery store. These were things that Jungkook could not know.

“CEO Song gave me an opportunity. I must fight for myself. As long as I work hard, the more I do, the more money I will earn.” Lisa clenched her fists and said with high morale.

Jungkook secretly remembered the name of the arrogant and domineering female supervisor, Krystal. He replied calmly, “Okay, I believe you.”

Lisa nodded, stood up, and put on her apron. She suddenly found that the floor was spotless and extremely clean. She could not help but be stunned for a moment.

Jungkook followed her gaze and deliberately said in a somewhat aggrieved tone, “It’s not like I did nothing at home today. I mopped the floor and even cleaned the windows.”

After saying that, Jungkook could not help but laugh and shake his head helplessly.

He had always been an autocratic and uncompromising person. But now, just to get sympathy from Lisa, he say so.

Lisa realized that she had wronged Jungkook and felt a little ashamed. Her ears turned red. She blinked and said embarrassedly, “I’m sorry, I was wrong.”

“It’s okay, it’s not like I told you anyway.” Jungkook shook his head.

Seeing how Jungkook was understanding of her, Lisa couldn’t help but smile. She used to think that Jungkook was cold and unsmiling, but at this moment, he looked quite cute. She couldn’t help but jump in front of Jungkook and hug him tightly.

After hugging him, Lisa’s face turned red. She turned around and slipped into the kitchen to cook.

When it was dark and Lisa was ready to go to bed after taking a shower, Jungkook went out and prepared to go running.

Even after moving to the city, Jungkook still had the habit of exercising. However, he now only ran during the early morning and late night when few people were around.

While jogging, Jungkook called his assistant.

“Yes, Fourth Master Jeon.”

“Any updates on the investigation on the supervisor of Lisa’s company, Krystal, and the general manager, Dara?” Jungkook adjusted his breathing while jogging and asked in a deep voice.

“Krystal is the niece of the deputy general manager of Lisa’s company, Chen Kang. She was promoted by Chen Kang as she was his relative. She is in a relationship with another supervisor, Kai. Kai is Lisa’s university classmate, and he once pursued her. And as for the general manager, Dara, there’s nothing to report, she and Lisa are on good terms” the assistant replied.

“Mm. Firstly, meet Dara secretly and ask her to help take good care of Lisa”

Jungkook pondered for a moment and suddenly had an idea. He continued, “Forget it, you don’t have to do this. Tell Taehyung  about this matter and ask him to meet Dara for me.”

After explaining everything, Jungkook ran a few more rounds before returning home.

When he reached home, Lisa had already fallen asleep. There was a small lamp left on in the living room for him. Jungkook quickly took a shower and entered his room.

Ever since they moved, the two of them had split bedrooms. However, Jungkook felt that the quality of his sleep was not as good as when they were in the brick house in the countryside.

After they had split bedrooms, it was no longer simple wooden boards that separated them. Instead, they now had thick walls. Now, he could not hear Lisa’s soft breathing when she slept.

Jungkook tossed and turned for a long time before he finally fell asleep.

At the morning meeting of the company on Monday, Lisa finished reading the review that she had written under the witness of dozens of people in the sales department.

After she finished reading, Krystal also walked up to the stage with a livid expression. She gritted her teeth and read her review about management negligence.

When she finished reading and left the stage, Krystal felt dozens of pairs of eyes staring at her, mocking her. After walking stiffly back to the office, Krystal was so angry that she started scolding Lisa again.

What she felt towards Lisa now was hatred. She hated her so much that she wished that her bones would be crushed and ashes scattered!

Supervisor Zhou held her shoulders and comforted her, “It’s okay, Krystal. Everyone knows that you’re being wronged. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

Krystal said hatefully, “After she met with the general manager, she started acting like a big shot. Lisa, that bitch!”

“Okay, okay. Krystal, let’s not lower ourselves to the level of people who rely on their connections to get to the top,” Kai advised again.

Dara silently watched Lisa and Krystal take turns to read their reviews before leaving.

Her assistant hurried over and reported, “CEO Song, the young master of the Qin family who made an appointment to meet you has arrived.”

“Well, let’s go.” Dara nodded.
