“Yep, rumours are not credible.”

Jennie’s obedient look made Lisa’s heart soften again.

The two of them walked and stopped. The commercial street was bustling with people. There were many shops with desserts and snacks on both sides.

Smelling the fragrance of the fried skewers, the two of them lined up behind the crowd.

Suddenly, Lisa’s phone vibrated. She swiped open the screen and it was a notification for a transfer of 20,000 yuan.

“Jungkook?” Jennie was right beside Lisa. When she saw the name of the person who transferred the money, she couldn’t help but read it out.

Lisa didn’t understand what had happened either. She hurriedly got Jennie to line up. She walked to the side and called Jungkook.

“Hello.”

Jungkook’s steady voice entered her ears. They had just spoken, but Lisa was already missing him.

“Why did you suddenly transfer so much money to me?”

She couldn’t figure out where Jungkook got the money. Didn’t he just get the translation job?

“My friend returned it. I thought you needed to spend money in the capital for the next few days, so I transferred it to you.”

Jungkook had thought of directly binding Lisa’s card, but he was afraid of scaring Lisa. Moreover, it was only a transfer of money, so it was easy to find an excuse.

Thinking of Jungkook’s first thought of her when his friend returned him his money, Lisa’s heart warmed.

“There’s no need for that. The company usually pays for business trips. You can keep the money! Don’t give it all to me.” Lisa said gently to Jungkook.

“The company will pay for the expenses of your work. You can’t not buy things for yourself.”

Lisa really had no intention of buying anything. Not to mention the money she owed Taehyung  and Jisoo, just the prices of things in Jing City alone were enough to scare her off.

Jungkook was also thinking about this, so he transferred the money to Lisa when he received a message from his subordinate saying that Lisa had gone to the business district.

“I don’t need so much. I’ll send it back to you!” Lisa said.

“I’ll leave it with you. If you want to buy something, then buy it. If you don’t want to buy it, then save it.” Jungkook settled the matter with a tough attitude.

Although Lisa was sighing on the surface, she was extremely touched.

Returning to the queue, Jennie asked who was the person who transferred the money to her. Lisa replied with a red face that it was her husband.

“Eh? Lisa, why did your husband transfer so much money to you? Is it his salary?”

“No, he said that I needed money to buy things in the capital, so he transferred all the money that his friend returned to him.” Lisa said truthfully.

“That’s so nice! Lisa, I’m envious and jealous.”

Jennie’s words were opposites, as if she was joking with Lisa.

At this time, they had already reached the front of the fried skewer shop. Jennie pulled on Lisa’s sleeve and said coquettishly, “Lisa, to make up for being blinded by your display of affection, you have to treat me to this meal.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll treat you.”

Lisa did not refuse. Although she had Yeonjun as her younger brother, Yeonjun rarely acted coquettishly with her. After all, boys were prideful. Jennie, on the other hand, was different. She was more like a sister who relied on her older sister.

The two of them strolled until the evening before they finally returned to the hotel.

...

Soyeon took a nap in the hotel. After that, she no longer felt airsick and returned to her usual state.

As soon as Lisa entered the room, she saw that she was busy with a pile of documents. Lisa did not make a sound and made a soft hand gesture to Jennie.

The two of them put the food they brought for Soyeon aside. Lisa wanted to tidy up her toiletries, but she was stopped by Soyeon.

“Lisa, come and take a look at this information.”

Soyeon adjusted the glasses on the bridge of her nose. This information was about the approximate data they had compiled about Lin Group’s real estate project from the year before last. There seemed to be some inaccuracies in it.

Lisa took the information and looked at it carefully. This was the information that she had organized, so she still had some impression of it.

“Sister Xu, is there any problem with the file?”

“Here.” Soyeon pointed at a number.

“I went online and checked it. According to my calculations, this record should be 20% lower than the actual amount.”

Soyeon pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses, and a cold glint flashed across her eyes under the lenses.

Lisa was shocked and quickly sat down at the table to check it carefully.

A mistake in the data was a major dereliction of duty. If they were to make a plan based on the wrong data, it would not only be a problem of not being selected, but it would also attract the ridicule of the people from other companies. It would even affect the company’s reputation because it was a rookie mistake.

Lisa did as Soyeon said and rechecked the information for accounting and collation.

As expected, the data was wrong. Moreover, during the investigation, Lisa also found another error in the records. The location on the records did not match the additional information at all.

Jennie walked out of the bathroom at this time. When she saw Lisa and Soyeon’s serious expressions, she could not help but be puzzled.

“Sister Xu, Lisa, what happened to you two?”

Soyeon looked at Jennie sharply, while Lisa frowned and replied, “Our information might have been compromised.”
