Chapter 241: Real or Fake Confidantes
The two of them had known each other for quite a long time, so Lisa did not beat around the bush with her. She directly said, “Jennie, do you have any designs on Jungkook when you have such high regard for him?”
Faced with Lisa’s sudden outburst, Jennie was speechless. After a long while, she laughed dryly and said, “Sister Lisa, what are you talking about? He is your husband, my brother-in-law. What designs can I have?”
“It’s good that you don’t have any. I don’t want my friend to be eyeing my husband.”
Lisa’s voice was cold and indifferent. Her eyes were locked tightly on Jennie.
Jennie stuttered, “Sister Lisa, why would you think that! Am I that kind of person?”
“Jennie, I’ve always hoped that you’re not, but your actions and words make me suspicious.”
“Sister Lisa, what do you mean by that? You can’t accuse me like this!”
Jennie had an aggrieved look on her face, and her eyes were filled with tears. It really seemed like Lisa had wronged her.
Lisa’s expression suddenly changed, and the corners of her mouth rose, she laughed lightly. “Why are you crying? I’m just suspicious. Firstly, I don’t want our relationship to be ruined because of my husband. Secondly, I don’t want any misunderstandings between us to cause any changes in my relationship with my husband. Today, I’m just saying it out loud so that there won’t be any suspicions between us.”
Jennie was nervous because of Lisa’s every move. She was indeed interested in Jungkook , but she didn’t expect Lisa to notice and directly expose it. However, at this time, she wouldn’t admit it no matter what.
“Sister Lisa, believe me. I don’t have any other intentions towards brother-in-law. I just think that brother-in-law and sister are very compatible.”
Lisa smiled as she picked up the name tag on the office desk and fiddled with it. “Yes, I believe you. Our Jennie isn’t stupid. You know yourself what you should or should not do.”
Jennie watched as Lisa’s movements became faster and faster. Was Lisa warning her that she was her superior and not to have any designs on Jungkook ?
Jennie held back her fear and tried her best to pretend to be her usual self, she said coquettishly, “Of course I’m not stupid! Sister Lisa, you are really thinking too much. Brother-in-law is already married to you. How can I be interested in brother-in-law! Moreover, there are so many single men. I wouldn’t go to the extent of being someone’s mistress, right?”
Lisa smiled and did not answer.
Seeing that the situation was still not right, Jennie did not dare to stay with Lisa any longer. She simply found an excuse and left Lisa’s office.
