Chapter 18: Moximum Need

Each morning for the next week, I was living in purgatory. There's the Festival of the Lost Finale Ball that's coming. It's going to be a dance in the main courtyard of the northern Tower, where I work, or... worked. Tess is going to be slammed, but I need to commit to not working so that I have any chance of staying alive.

In fact, the south Tower, east Tower, and westmost Tower, are all going to be having the same Finale Ball... party... thing... It's for adults. Before that, the kids go trick or treating, however they do that. I never really learned how they do that, but the parents know how it works. It's a whole day of festivities that's going to kick off in just a couple days.

It's the first time I'm actually going to have to sit out. I wish Tess good luck. I also wish the Eververse trading company good luck as they take over the Guardian Apparel side of things. Tess is doing what she promised me back then, and could not have been a better neighbor, better friend, better... sister-like figure, if I'm allowed to say that, if she tried.

I wasn't able to get a hold of Mox, and seeing that she's one of my friends, or... I'm hoping that at least she WAS, so that she still remembers me. Anyway, seeing that we are semi close, I want to go see her, and that's what I'm finally going to do as of today.

On the Serenity side of things, she's been okay, but... she's... very protective. She loves taking care of me, and I respect that. She likes helping me in the shower, loves cuddling with me when I need it, because holy shit I play wall-ball with my sanity. You know wall-ball? It's a thing we used to play-ANYWAY, but sex... I know she wants to have sex, and it's hard.

We tried, we really did. I'm sure some of you readers, if anyone is even reading this, can't imagine what it's like to be pleasureless, and I mean... literally... you cannot feel any stimulation down there. It's hard, but you get used to... not being hard. Okay, I'm sorry, anyway, I've been her little oral-finger machine for her "port" that she calls it. Very vulgar to say it like that, but grocery shopping with Chase will do that to you.

Chase: And then he tried to get me to SUCK IT... like... WHY?! It's Vex milk, we can't drink that! Not after you boil it and distill it... then ferment it... then ferment it again... until it becomes like sake... oh it's good, you'd like it actually.

Yeah... I'm out with her right now.

Chase: Ah, but... he was a nice guy, but... a little too quirky for my tastes.

Y/N: Goofier than you?

Chase: Exactly! I need like... someone serious, or a total moping warlock to keep me held down or... y-y'know, there's probably a better way to say that.

Y/N: You want someone who will put up with your bullshit. The age old saying and what that one weird cat and that lady said, "opposites attract, it's a natural fact", or... whatever they said.

Chase: That was from a song...

Y/N: Yeah, and?

Chase: Huh...

She starts singing Opposites Attract and then begins whistling the ending as she pushes me along the grocery store. I can tell by the weight being put on the wheelchair that she's skipping. Where's Serenity in all this? She's helping Tess with some of the moving. Also, she's knocking out a wall to make the space bigger for her.

I am still going to be living under there while Phantom is moving. You remember earlier when Serenity said they would be moving? She's going to be living a whisper away, in the complex where most of the guardians live. They're making the move from the south end, all the way to the northern end. I want to see Mox again, I sure hope she's alright.

Chase: What are you thinking about? What's going on in Y/N-land, hmmm?

She starts poking at my cheek, then giggles as she starts rubbing my shoulders. I want to lean back and rest my head against her tummy, but I know that's not right. She's just... so friendly, so nice... and this whole time I just knew her as that one idiot hunter. Gambling each morning has forced me to start thinking differently. I do like Mox, I do like Chase, and I don't know if it's like Serenity... or... if it is...
