I made a mental note to avoid these women at all costs. Fireteam Phantom looks deadly and will promise me hell if I ever encounter them. I just have this hunch that they are going to kill me or do something bad when they find out the person they loved is still kicking. Tess kind of set me off on that thinking path of destruction...

Especially with how she talked about Crow and how she was a little disgruntled to be talking to her best-dead-friend-walking. I have to try and swallow up my fear and anxiety right now as I'm about to face this big man. Zavala, who's supposed to be one of the heads of the Vanguard... or... maybe he IS the head of the Vanguard.

Whatever, he's gonna be happy to see another new guardian to be added to his army; I'm sure of it, or... Gaia was sure of it. I'm walking to the edge of the courtyard slowly, making sure not to disturb him. He has an interesting sense of what's around him. He could sense who I was without turning around.

Zavala: We had many instances like yours... Y/N.

Y/N: How'd you know?

Zavala: Even HE used to step like his feet were wet.

Y/N: Heh... I'm... that much like him, huh? How come I don't remember anything?

Zavala: Well, you can change, Y/N. You are a ghost of the past, but that doesn't mean you can't remember who that ghost was. Crow knew he was bad in his past, and so... he learned.

Y/N: Are you saying I could do the same? Just soak in everything around me and remember the Y/N that I was? This... person who made armor look good and... died of cancer?

Zavala: I'm saying that you can be better. Ikora is who you will talk about that. What I wanted to say...

He walks forward, his footsteps causing me to gulp out of fear. He stands a little shorter than me, but tall enough to be fear inducing. His grip is strong on my shoulder when he grabs it, but he settles the bugs inside me when he smirks.

Zavala: You'll be with us again soon, old friend. The Traveler loves its sick games.

Y/N: Yeah, part of me wishes I was still dead...

Zavala: You're here now, Y/N, and you survived the worst.

Y/N: What, is the Pale Heart that bad?

Zavala: Where is your ghost?

Gaia: Right here? He named me Gaia...

Zavala: Gaia...

Gaia: The Pale Heart is... pretty bad, and that's putting it lightly. You should know, you nearly froze to death, broke your neck, and put down a few lucent Hive which you are nowhere near powerful enough to defeat.

Y/N: Yeah, why was I buried there?

Zavala: I will never know. Go see Ikora. Banshee-44 is the gunsmith on the way to her; see him as well. Lastly, you should visit Crow.

Gaia: That's what I was saying! Crow knows what you're going through!

Y/N: Alright, well... I'm going to go do that.

Zavala: Guardian...

He nods his head, letting go of my shoulder to go reminisce over the railing once again. I start walking away from him, going in the direction my ghost is taking me. It leads me to a counter with a blue and yellow robot working at it. He's hunched over a workbench, fiddling with some purple and white gun that looks... very broken.

Y/N: Banshee-44?

Banshee: Right... what is... Oh... Y/N, it's you...

Y/N: A guardian now, though.
