Side chapters 1: Ben and Jeff

" Dude, y'know that shit is contagious right? "

" You feed into too many superstions. It's a yawn "

" Whatever, when everyone in the house starts doing it don't say anything! "

" Sure Ben, and when I grow wings toby will actually grow some back bone- "

" I HATE YOU! "

We both froze as the sudden scream of angry ruptured throughout the house. Our gazes landing on eachother

" First one up there wins! " Jeff challenged me, but I'm naturally smarter then him so I went through the TV entering Toby's room

" Toby, come on- "

" No! I refuse to hear ANYTHING you have to say to me! "

I stood there, shocked

Toby was in a oversized navy blue hoodie. His glasses completely removed yet his mask stayed, and, well Hoodie, he was um.....how should I put this? He had is hands up in defense. In all my years, I've never seen Hoodie back down from anyone or anything

" Hey guys- "

" Ben?! "

" *Deep breaths* I....hate those fucking....stairs! "

" Jeff?! W-why are you guys here?! "

" We heard the screaming. Toby you never scream "

" That's because of this l-loser! "

" Toby try and- "

" If you say calm down I will mutilate your fuckin face even more Jeff! "

" Oh " Jeff said in stunnedness

" Hoodie, buddy, wanna tag in? "

" Oh yes! Tell them what you did! "

" I...."

" Don't be shy! You weren't shy when you kissed me! "

" WHAT?! " Me and Jeff exclaimed

" I- it wasn't like that "

" Really?! You came in here- tricked me into falling for your stupid words! And kissed me! I don't want anything to do with you! " Toby ran out the room, tears as his footprints

" I'll go get him " Jeff called out following him

" Get Lulu before you do! " I responded back

Hoodie sighed as he sat on the bed

" Hey "

" I fucked up "

" Yeah. Something like that "

" I didn't mean to Ben, it just happened "

" You wanna explain it? "

" Sure "

Flashback

" Hey I got your text, you okay? "

" I-i-i d-dont t-t-think s-so "

" Toby you're ticking like crazy, what happened " I closed the door behide me

" I h-had a b-b-b-bad d-dre-dre- "

" Dream? "

He shook his hea. I took a pause before speaking

" Was it about your dad? "

He shook his head again

" Im not the best with words but, it'll be okay Toby. He can't harm you anymore "

" I-its not t-t-that. I e-envy Yumi. H-h-having two strong p-parents. Loving o-ones "

" And there's nothing wrong with that. As long as you don't hold her to that, it's not her fault. You have every right to feel like that. You were robbed of such, it's natural that you're still working through the difficult emotions "

" Really? " He asked taking off his glasses to wipe his eyes

" Yeah. I wouldn't lie to you "

" Thanks Hoodie "

" No problem- " I turned my head towards him only to regret it

His face was so cute looking. His eyes were like little brown gemstones, and I had just become rich with them. The way he looked at me....

" I really appreciate you- "

" You're cute "

His mouth hung open in a dead sentence. As quickly as the words came out, I wish they hadn't

" I...should go "

" Wait! Im s-sorry " he grabbed my wrist

" I just don't know how to reply to that, I've never been called cute! You think I'm cute- "

I ended his question, while giving him my answer. My head spun like crazy, his mask pulled down. His lips were so soft. As if they had been silk. My hand came up to his face cupping it gently

" Mph~ *deep breaths* " he pushed away from me taking a deep breath from the suffocating embrace

" Are you okay- "

" I hate you...."

" What..."

" I HATE YOU! "

Flashback end

" And that's how it kind of happened "

" Oh, I see why he said that now " I let out a small chuckle

" What's fucking funny about this?! " Hoodie towered over me as I continued to sit on the bed

" Hoodie, buddy, c'mon. You can't be this dense "

" What are you talking about?! "

" What does Toby do when he's embarrassed or doesn't know what to say? "

" He just starts spouting nonsense and saying all this hurtful stuff- don't even get me started with the iconic storming out the room....oh "

" Yeah man, he likes you "

" You can't be serious Ben "

" Listen. If there's anything I've learned it's that Toby has a special place in his heart for you. You know that. I'm sure about this, so sure id bet my game system. Go talk to him. Okay? "

" *Sign* okay "

I followed Hoodie out the room watching him trail into his own room

" I'm tired. I need a good sleep "

" You've said it. I'm beat "

" You think they'll work it out? "

" Possibly. We always end up helping everyone and barley do anything for ourselves "

" I agree. Wanna take a nap? "

" Yeah, I don't mean it like that. You're bed is more comfortable. My springs are broken on mine "

" Hey Ben? I just wanted to say thanks- "

" Are they there- "

" Shush. Look " Toby pointed to the sleepy BEN and Jeff sleeping next to eachother peacefully like two sibling cats

" Let's let them sleep, they've done their job "
