Why do I feel bad for reacting that way? Mr Gowda is at fault not me.
*But he did apologise.*
"When? He just walked away. Only to ask for Bhoomi's number. I can't believe I thought he was different."
*Why are you getting so upset? If you don't care as much about him, just let it be. He is just a stranger!*
"No! He is not just any stranger."
*Oh yeah! He is Bhoomika's to-be husband.*
"What!? No! He is my brother, not her husband. He will never be her husband."
*Really!? But you were the one who sort of cut ties with him. And how sure are you that he won't marry Bhoomika?*
"Shut up! Just shut up. We'll see about that later. Now don't mess with me."
"I'm talking to you! Where are you lost?" My mom's voice brought me back to reality.
"Umm! Nowhere. Repeat!"
"We were telling, just ask Bhoomika if she's received any commutation from Mr Gowda. It's been hours since her number was shared." My mom repeated.
"Why me? I don't want to pry into her personal life."
*LIAR!* my subconscious I tell you, can never shut up.
"We don't want complete details. Just a yes or no. Has Mr Gowda contacted her or not? Can't you do that much?" My father asked irritated by my answer.
"Why are you so hell-bent on knowing? If he wants to, he will contact her."
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I feel he asked her number because you people kept pushing it toward him. He might have asked just to keep your heart. They both are poles apart, I don't think anything would happen between them."
*Woah! What happened to you? You spoke back to your parents! Amazing!*
I mustn't lie but I was shocked at my reply. My expression resembled the same as my parents. We were all equally shocked.
"Is this the way to talk to him? Say sorry!" My mom ordered which I would follow each time but this time there was something different. A shift inside me, that told me to go all out. Something that assured me that I would be saved if I had a fallout with my parents.
"I didn't say anything wrong. I just voiced my opinion! Something I haven't done at all. That's why you people aren't able to handle it." I said and made a beeline to my room, shut the door and huffed out.
"She's of no use. The biggest mistake of our lives. If only that day..."
"That's enough. She's acting weird, I agree! But you don't go back to old terms. What's done is done. Just call up Vijay and find out." My mom prevented my dad from continuing. But this time, I had heard it and now I want to know what it is that they are hiding from me.
