Date?

At the end of the day, after picking up all of Olivia's work, I get a message off Erin saying that Kim is going to pick me up and bring me to the district and I'm going to be staying there for a while then Voight will take me to the hospital around 7. If he can that is. If not, I'll be staying there until Jay or Erin can pick me up.

"Hey Lishy, mum said that I'm getting a lift with you so wait up!" I jog to catch up to her and she wraps her arm around my shoulders. "Yay!" I laugh a little at that and we climb into the back of Kim's car. "Thank you for bringing with you Miss Burgess." She doesn't pull away from her spot and turns around to look at me. "Kim. Not Miss Burgess please. It makes me sound old."

I nod and smile slightly. "Sorry." She doesn't turn back around and gives me a stern look. "Not of that either. I've already banned Alicia from apologising when there's no need, I'll ban you as well." Me and Alicia laugh at this and Kim starts driving. "So how's Olivia doing?" I look up, knowing she's talking to me. "When I left this morning, she was doing okay. I haven't had any updates from mum or dad yet so hopefully she's improving. Hopefully, Voight is going to drop me off at 7 to go see her."

Kim looks at me through the rear view mirror. "That's good." I nod and go back to playing on my phone.

We arrive at the district and Sgt. Platt buzzes us up. "Thank you." We head up and I sit at Erin's desk with Alicia sat at Jay's. Voight comes out of his office when he sees we're up here. "You girls have a good day at school?" We both nod at him, pulling out our homework and making a start on it.

We have to write an essay for English and it's difficult. English isn't my strongest subject when it comes to writing. Reading I'm fine. It doesn't matter. I'll do my maths now then I'll do the essay at some point this weekend. With that, I switch the homework sheets around and fly through the maths homework. It's revision rather than a new topic and it was Pythagoras so nothing too hard.

7 o'clock finally comes around and Voight walks out of his office with his coat in his hands. "Let's get going then Amber. We can pick up some food on the way so you all don't have to eat that awful hospital food." I pack my stuff away, glad to have a reason to stop doing my homework. "I'll talk to you later Lishy." She quickly jumps up and runs over too me. "C-Can I quickly talk to you? In the break room?" I nod and quickly follow her, leaving Voight stood in the middle of the bullpen looking confused."

"I-I erm... Amber. Would you maybe want to... Go on a date.? With me?" She plays with her fingers looking at the floor waiting for a response. Without a second thought to it, I lift her head up to look at me and kiss her. She kisses back then pulls away. "I-is that a yes?" I smile. "It is. Message me the details. I have to go, Voight's waiting." I give her another quick kiss then leave.

Did I actually just do that?!

Me and Voight walk out of the district and start making our way to the hospital. "So what was that about Ambs?" I blush instantly and start playing with my fingers. "Oh. Erm. Ha. She erm..." He looks down at me, a smile on his face. "Does somebody have a crush on someone?" I chuckle a little bit. "She asked me on a date."

"And what did you say?" I smile. "I said yes." He ruffles my hair and laughs. "Look at you go!" I quickly push his hand off my hair and laugh. "She's gonna message me the details."

We get to the hospital and he walks me in, meeting Nat in the waiting room and she takes us up. "Hey mum! Hey dad! Hey Liv." We walk into the room and Erin is sat in the seat I slept in, next to Olivia and Jay is sat on the couch. "Hey Amber. How was school?" Mum pats the spot on the arm of the chair she's in.

"It was pretty good. I got some homework but I'll do that tomorrow." Olivia looks at me with a funny look. "What's got you grinning like that?" Voight looks at Erin and my eyes widen. "More of a who that a what Olivia." I jump up. "Voight!" He looks at me innocently. "And that is where I will leave you for the night. Good night."

He walks out and Erin pulls me back onto the chair. "So? Who is it?" I flop against the wall. "Mummmmmm!" She laughs at me. "Come on Amber. You gotta tell us." I sit up and look at Olivia who had just spoken. "You too?" She nods, smiling at me. "If you all must know it's ..." I mumble her name. "Who was that pipsqueak? Couldn't quite hear you." I roll my eyes. "Alicia."

Erin pulls me off the arm of the chair and into her. "My little girls in loOoveeeee!" Jay and Olivia laugh at this whilst I try to slide off her legs and down to the floor. I can't get out so I try calling for help. "Dad! Help!" I hear him getting up and he helps me out of Erin's arms, pulling me into his instead. "Now you know, I'm gonna have to have a talk with Alicia." He lays his arms around my shoulders whilst I'm looking at mum with him behind me. "Make sure she knows to treat you right."

I roll my eyes and lift his arms off me. "Please don't dad. That's so embarrassing! And besides, it's only a date. Who knows if it goes further?"

Hopefully it does.
