"Look! It's them!" Seamus shouted. Everyone cheered for a whole minute, their faces scabbed with dirt and bruises. Their clothes looked no better either. What used to be a vibrant red and yellow as accents to their uniforms represented a dull and shadowed color, similar to how their eyes looked now.

"Erm, hello," Harry acknowledged, waving awkwardly and giving a bit too many nods.

"So, what's the plan?" A kid from Gryffindor, who did not look any older than twelve years old asked. Your heart broke at seeing how his height compared to the rest of your peers, he barely reached them at their shoulders. He is just a little boy.

Neville gave them a quick rundown at what was discussed back in the tunnel. You huddled up with Ron to discuss how to navigate through Hogwarts after retrieving the note from your bedroom. Ron suggested to prepare for anything possible and to be ready if it came down to perform the forbidden spells.

"We are in this for Harry," you reminded him, "there is no bloody spell that I will not use to protect him."

Ron grinned at this reaction from you. "I knew we were like siblings for a reason." He nudged your elbow playfully.

"I believe we are ready to go now," Hermione interrupted, her nose slightly pink. A loose curl from her ponytail fell in front of her face. Ron, without missing a beat, fixed it for her. She let him, closing her eyes as he loosed her hair tie and did her ponytail for her again. She cherished this moment, taking in how his fingernails brushed through her hair.

You smiled at this display of affection from Ron to Hermione. He knew how much she loved it when he would pay attention to her in this sort of way.

"I think we are too," you said, looking at Harry.

Harry nodded and gave you a tight hug as the four of you were saying goodbye to one another. You felt like your throat was on fire by how much you wanted to sob into his shoulder at the thought of separating from him. You clutched into his sweater forcing your brain to remember how he smells. He pressed his head against your head to be completely drowned in your hair.

"Please, please, be safe, Harry," you begged, your voice shaky with the intent of not breaking down in front of him. "I can not lose you too."

This sentence hit Harry straight into his chest. "You won't. I promise."

Harry released you and kissed you repeating again and again between desperate kisses mixed with tears, the words I promise.

Ron and Hermione had a similar goodbye to one another. Hermione had no more strength to hide her tears anymore, she let Ron comfort her. "Ron, I am scared."

"I know," he answered, resting his chin on the top of her head. "Nothing is going to hurt you, Mione. I would not let anything harm you." His tone got serious. "If I even feel that you are in distress however far you are from me, I will come running to save you. Do not doubt for a second that I will let you go through this alone. Not again."

Hermione responded by giving him a kiss, her fingers clawing at the ends of his hair in a desperate attempt to keep him there with her.

Once everyone else has left the common room and it was just the four of you, each of you looked at each other intently. A million words were exchanged in the silence of these glances. The amount of love between the four of you was enormous that words did not come close to express how each one of you felt for the other.

"We'll see each other again soon," Harry said, nodding once again at his departure. "Meet us again outside." Hermione waved her goodbye as Harry could not bring himself to close the door behind him. You watched as Hermione had to tell him to hurry along that their time was running up and he mouthed the words "I love you". You were about to mouth them back but the door slammed hundreds of feet away from you. Leaving behind Ron and you in the common room.
