"Where do you think he would have gone?" Fred asked, his voice sounding normal again. You were still incredibly relieved. You saved him, and he was okay again.
"Probably further in," Ron answered, walking in front of you and Hermione, next to his brother. They said this would be best, in case there was danger ahead, they would be ready to defend. Their wands were gripped strongly in their dominant hand, their eyes searching for any strange notion of danger.
You and Hermione held hands behind them.
"Do you know how long that draught will last, Mione?" You asked her. You helped her avoid a hole covered with twigs.
"I reckon a while. Madame Pomfrey told me that the unicorn hair would do wonders for mental clarity. I also added a lot of peppermint. I heard it was better to clear the mind, and Harry was having a lot of trouble with that last year."
You nodded. Harry. If your soul could go anywhere, it would be to go next to Harry, holding his hand, and forgetting all about this. To have him one more time, to see his smile one more time, before all of this happened. A blind rage attacked you again, where you saw a vision of yourself killing Voldemort, seeing the evil from his eyes go dark, and his eyes never opening again.
"Y/n... Y/n... You're hurting my hand," Hermione called, moving her hand from your grasp.
"I'm so sorry, Hermione, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."
"What were you thinking about?"
"I... I had this thought about me killing You-Know-Who and feeling good about it," you confessed, glancing at her.
She remained silent for a bit and nodded.
"Do you think that is weird? Justifying murder? I mean, just think back at the castle, what's going on right now. Good people killing bad people. How is that... How are we able to just do that?"
Hermione exhaled. "That was something that shocked me, too, when I fully immersed myself in the identity of being a witch. Back in the Muggle world, we don't usually kill people for fun or anything like that. I don't... I'm scared of doing it. But, I guess it can be justified. I mean, You-Know-Who has killed so many innocent people, you know that. His supporters, too, not to mention the torture they must have done to so many to join."
"Do you think my parents have killed?"
Hermione raised her eyebrows at you. "Would you care if they did? Would it change your opinion on them if they haven't?"
You looked at the ground again, your mouth twisting on one side. "I'm not so sure, I just don't know them. At all. The only bit I got from them is that they died when I was really young, not even the lady taking care of me knew much about them, either. Well, now I know why, but still. I can't really determine their character."
"When this is over and You-Know-Who dies, would you want to reconnect with your parents?"
You stayed silent as you traveled with your friends deeper in the forest. Hermione assured Fred that no one would be able to hear the conversation. She had used the Mulatto charm again.
"I really don't know. I think once You-Know-Who dies, my father will die too, I'm assuming. I haven't seen the bloke ever. And I guess I never will. As for my mother, I doubt she would want to see me, seeing as we are going to be the reason my father will die."
"I didn't... I didn't think about that," Hermione answered, her voice low. "Is there another way that your father can... can escape that binding?"
"I doubt it, I'm sure my mother would have found a way. She loves him, a lot, I could tell by the way she was sobbing."
