Lisa and Ella look warmly at a smiling Jennie, genuinely happy that now she will not be sad on this special day for her - Rose did her best.
-I think it's very nice.- Lisa said, taking a quick look at the basket of mini gifts, then looked back at her friend.- You said she didn't love you. People say "I love you" in different ways. She memorized the date and fussed about making sure you got the gift on time. Not many people pay attention to that in general, but she did.
Jennie mulls over her friend's words and realizes that she's right - this was clearly worth Rose's time, and she really did think things through to make Jennie feel good.
-No one told her it was my birthday, did they?- Jennie said, glancing at her sister and friend just in case.
-Nope.- Ella throws up her hands in a defensive gesture, shaking her head, and Lisa echoes her.
-Taehyung had nothing to do with it either.- Lisa defended her friend, and Jennie, nodding, accepted their answer.- She just remembered.
-That's very sweet, and it doesn't take much to tell you how much she cares about you.- Ella agreed and plopped down on a bar stool.- I liked her right away.
She smiles broadly and looks at Jennie, playfully bouncing her eyebrows, and the brown-haired girl only rolls her eyes, then walks around the bar and pulls out a coffee maker to make coffee for her guests and herself too.
-I don't even know what to make of all this.- Jennie sighs. - What does all this mean for us? Are we going to be on this kind of swing for a year? A long-distance relationship?
-I think you two need to talk about this sometime.- Lisa shrugged and walked around the counter, following her friend, then opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of milk.- Or you can keep riding that swing.
-It's hard.- Jennie admitted, resting her hips on the countertop, waiting patiently for the coffee maker to boil.- Distance is hard for me, it's just unbearable. The way I feel about her, it's just awful. Irene and I used to fight a lot because of our lack of attention to each other, but now... you know what I mean.
-Don't compare your relationship with Irene.- Ella clucked her tongue, clearly still disliking her sister's ex.- You and Rose are different. You have a strong connection, and that's something you can't just throw away or forget.
-I agree. - Lisa agreed, watching her friend pour coffee into cups. - In fact, don't forget to type a message to Rose and thank her.
Lisa was already smiling, looking at Jennie, who herself spread a smile as soon as the conversation again touched directly on the blonde. The girls took their drink portions, a couple of goodies and headed to the balcony, where Jennie often relaxed and thought about life for the past few months. Now the weather is warm, sunny, and all the trees are green and lush and that alone lifts the mood. The weather promises to be good, and so does Jennie's day.
Her sister and Lisa settled into chairs near the small table, and Jennie took a sip of coffee, pulled out her phone and stepped back to the railing to hide from the prying eyes of the guests and type a message to Rose. The smile never left her face, and a slight thrill of excitement and trepidation enveloped her chest.
Jennie: Good morning :))
Jennie: I guess it's still early morning in Seattle and you're sleeping, but wanted to let you know I got your gift 😊
Jennie: Thank you💋
Jennie: You would have loved the scene where the three of us were jerked up by the doorbell and shocked looking at the courier 🤣
