District seven was beyond buetiful, not like district four was, but in its own way. The district was covered in trees, and the roads had civilians loitering around the streets, dressed in warm clothing that consisted of jeans and flannels. Avi was sure she and Gil, stuck out like a sore thumb with their district four attire, shorts and t-shirts. If they had known they would have been wandering around such a cold district, maybe they would have thought to grab a jacket on their way to the beach, but they handnt, and Avi could feel the air nipping at her skin.Wind whistled around them as they walked in the unfamilair streets, those around them, stared at them, not regonizing them to be anyone from their district. Gil tugged on his necklace from beside Avi, it was made out of the net roping, with blue beads at the end, and most of the kids in district four had the same one.
"Is that him?" Gil pointed at some random boy with a hat, and Avi shook her head.
"Not even close." She didnt know if she would even be able to find Treech in this district, but she knew she would do whatever it takes just to see him again.
Gil sighed, so far they had no luck. He stepped to the side just as one of the wood trucks came driving past them. It stopped just a few feet infront of them, and some of the worker boy's jumped off, beggining to unload the logs of wood. Their backs were turned to them, and Avi couldnt make out any of their faces. One of the boys turned around, squinting at the pair. He wacked one of the others on the shoulder and pointed at them, but neither of them were treech.
The two boys whisepred to eachother as if they were arguing over something, then one of them began to wave them over. "Hey you two!"
Gil and avi exchanged hesitant glances, before walking over to them. Maybe they could help them, and you could never know unless you tried.
"Hi?" Gil raised an eyebrow, as the boys glanced between them, like they were trying to put the peices together.
"are you two from around here?" One of them asked.
Avi shifted uneasily on her feet, and sassily replied, "what do you think?"
"If im being honest— no? Your wearing shorts and its freezing out." He looked them up and down, "you two dont really give district seven vibes. Alot cuter." He winked at Avi.
"Thats becuase were from four." Gil replied, and both the boys head snapped towards eachother.
"Like district four?"
Gil nodded, and both the boys grew smiles, their faces lighting up like they just made the biggest discovery of the world.
"What a coincidence." One of them laughed, "one of our friends just got visitors from four. He was friends with them."
"More like more than friends." The other smirked, earning a slap on the shoulder.
"Shut up. He'll kill you if he hears you say that."
"Good thing hes not here then."
"Wait who?" Avi cut them off, her mind racing as she tried to figure out who the hell they were talking about. The only people who would knew to come to district seven would be Mizzen, or even coral.
"Our friend." He answered simply.
Avi rolled her eyes, "no, I knew that. Who's your friend?"
They looked at her skeptically, as if they were debating on wether or not they should tell her. They didnt seem like they wanted too, and both of them pressed their lips together.
Gil glared at them, noticing what Avi was trying to get at. "Ok. Were not being creepy. Is his name Treech?"
The boy's hesitantly nodded, and Avi felt her heart drop in her chest as Gil smirked.
