Treech finnally felt his chest stop aching, the heaviness completly cleared and for the first time in awhile he felt peacefully, his hand interwined with Avi's as they sat infront of his home fireplace. Avi rested her head on his shoulder, dressed in his flanneled shirt, and a blanket over their laps.
Treech sucked in a peacefull breath, rubbing his hand over Avi's. There were no bars between them, or prying capital eyes. It was just them, and Treech wanted nothing more than to just stay here for his entire life. He had been dreaming of this moment for weeks, and now he was finnally here. His head went quite, and for once he wasnt huanted my the memories of the games.
When Treech had first been told that Avi was gone, he had felt his whole world crash around him, and he could barely comprehend that she was gone. Part of him knew that Avi was too strong for the capital, that she would have found a way, but another part of him, the one he tried to ignore, had that sinking feeling that made him think he would never see her again, but here he was. Avi was safe, she wasnt dead, and she was with him.
"How are you?" Avi whispered, her voice only audible for him to hear. Treech swallowed, staring at the fire place infront of him like it was the only thing in the room. His face hardened for a moment, and Avi gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
"Im alright." He answered honestly, having to tear his eyes away from the fire to look at Avi, "Its hard, but I'll manage."
"I know you will." She replied, reaching up to his face, and tucking one of the stray curls behind his ears.
For now, they stayed wrapped up in eachother, the only noise being the cackling of the fire and their soft breathing that reassured eachother that they were still there.
