A/n: hopefully I won't have to write to many more author's notes, but I felt the need to for this one. I won't go into, but a lot of shit happened in the last few weeks before I posted this. It's mostly over. Just like in my last note, I'm trying to write more. I'm sorry for continuing to disappear.

I appreciate everyone who continues to read this, even with my dodgy upload schedule. I hope you enjoy the one shot!

As much as it hurt, Atsumu gave you what you wanted. He didn't so much as say a word to you. He never acted like you didn't exist, but he didn't speak a word to you. You had hoped that he would give up so you could apologise—hell, you didn't even care as long as you got your friend back—but he never did. It was unlike Atsumu to ignore you. Everytime you had hurt yourself, everytime you had broken something as a kid, everytime you needed help with something in volleyball. He had been there.

Yet now he was gone, and you had no clue what to do.

"Samu!" You snapped as you ran into his classroom. It had been a week, and this was the third message you received via Gin. "Tell your brother to just suck it up and talk to me!"

Osamu scowled at you. "And I should do that, why...?"

You scrunched your nose, turning and looking back at the hallway to avoid his gaze. "I...I said that wrong. It's just..."

Osamu sighed. He gestured to a chair next to him, one that stood empty for the moment. You sulked toward the chair, falling into it with a loud thud. You drummed your fingers on the desk. "You know, Tsumu is super upset about this whole thing too."

You scoffed. "Yeah, sure."

Osamu's glare was enough to make you nearly fall out of your chair. He relaxed again before he finally continued. "Believe whatever you want, but the first thing Tsumu did when he made it back to our room was start to cry. Could barely get a word outta the guy fer, like, twenty minutes."

You blinked and glanced out in the hallway. Dozens of people walked past, each in pairs with the largest smile on their faces. You could have sworn you would have been out there just like them only a month ago. The thought of you walking next to Atsumu with a beaming smile came to you like second nature. You found it harder to imagine the situation you were in than that. You could see Atsumu's face twisted in laughter as you slipped over your words. As you made comments about his poor gaming abilities. As you made a joke about one of his teammates and the poor attempt at a pass they had made the day before. You could see the two of you practicing a new skill he had found and wanted to try, ending in Atsumu falling over or missing the ball entirely.

"I don't know what exactly happened, but I can tell that you're not happy. Tsumu isn't either. And I'm getting tired of the two of you avoiding each other. Just go and talk to him."

"And say what?" You asked, laying your head down on the desk. "I mean...I'm still upset about everything that happened, too."

Osamu raised a brow. "What even happened? Tsumu hasn't told me."

You bit your lip. Admittedly, the whole thing was pretty embarrassing. You weren't sure how to tell Osamu the whole thing without him blowing up at you. After all, this is exactly the thing Osamu wanted to avoid in the first place. But you couldn't make him more upset over the whole thing...right?

"N/n, just tell me," Osamu said, heaving a heavier sigh than his last one. "If you want my help I need to know what exactly is going on."

He was right, of course. You knew that the second you had started talking to him about it in the first place. So, you told him exactly how it happened. You didn't mince any words or embellish it. You hadn't even gotten maybe half way through when Osamu started pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head in disbelief. By the time you had finished, he couldn't seem to find the words to say much of anything.
