"PLEASE LET ME GO WITH YOU–"

"SHH. BE QUIET. FINE."

Shelly giggled and followed Dandy – who was sneaking out. He did this every year on every single holiday, he'd always sneak out and come back two days later. Nobody questioned it; it was sort of normal?

Shelly had finally gotten the guts to actually see what he was doing, She had just caught him before he left; making him groan as she pestered him.

"Here, you'll need this." Dandy handed her a soft thick coat, his eyes wandering to some nearby boots as he hinted for her to put them on.

She quickly zipped up the coat and eagerly put on the boots, a large smile present on her face. She felt included in something for once! Besides, it's not like anyone else would notice she had sneaked off with Dandy.

"Wait– why do we need all of this gear? It's barely snowing outside!" Shelly muttered her eyes looking at the gloves that Dandy had just given her.

"Not where we're going, we've gotta be prepared." Dandy started to walk away, making Shelly panic while she desperately chased after him.

"We'll use the train, once we reach our destination.. we unfortunately have to travel on foot. I've never done this with another person so I'm not sure how you'll be able to handle it." Dandy rambled, sighing and walking towards the train station; Shelly kept her pace steady with his – her brain soaking in every word he said.

"S-so.. I'm the first one to actually go with you?" Shelly's eyes lit up, she felt so special right now! "I suppose you are.." Dandy squinted his eyes and rubbed his cheek, actually taking a moment to process how many times he left during the holidays.

"Well the train is pulling up, are you ready?.. Shells?" Dandy deadpanned at the nickname but said it anyway, this was his chance to have a bond with another main besides Astro and Pebble.

Shelly marveled at the nickname before nodding her head excessively. They both stepped on the train, it was surprisingly empty and cold. "I forgot how cold it is here.." Dandy sighed as he leaned on the railing, rested his head back and closed his eyes; taking in the cold with a hint of glee.

"...." Shelly stared at him, she began to kick the air while the one-sided awkwardness filled the train. "So.. doesn't it get ... Lonely?" Shelly whispered to herself mostly but it echoed throughout the train – giving Dandy the chance to hear it.

"Well.. no. I'm used to being alone, it's.. calming in a way? I dunno." Dandy moved his hands around, trying to word his sentence right.

"I wish I could feel like that.. calm." Shelly sighed and closed her eyes; allowing herself to also be consumed by the cold of the train.

"Hey. Maybe we can be alone together? We could go on these trips more often if you'd like." Dandy spun his petals around while he looked off to the side embarrassed, he was never the best at comforting people.

"I'd like that. Really, I appreciate it Dandy." Shelly smiled warmly at him; making him giggle and nod his head.

"We're almost there; hopefully the equipment I gave you will be enough." Dandy stretched and stared at the train's door; yawning and walking in front of it.
