Chapter Nineteen: GRIMMLIN War Part 4

At this time of night, it was rare to find so many restaurants open in The City of Atlas, what was the strangest thing was she couldn't remember much, the last few hours were gone like they didn't exist, it was strange, the city was quiet yet it looked as if there was a twister that had gone through it, many businesses and establishments were destroyed, there were bodies found all over, and in those areas, it was sealed off. This was the same in both Atlas and Mantle, something had happened, but nobody remembered what, nobody could remember the last two and a half hours of the evening.

It was as if a mass memory wipe had been conducted like in some Sci-fi movie, despite the bodies and damage done to the city everybody went on like nothing happened, well nothing did happen as far as anybody knew, and when there was no way to bring those memories forth it left a lot to be desired. The police have been investigating the dead bodies, the strange thing was each of the people who were killed had been killed by a different person.

The murder weapons had ranged from kitchen knives to rocks, and pretty much anything, it was like the city went crazy and everybody just tried to kill each other, There was no evidence of any motives, it was like everyone just lost their minds, there were several theories as to what was the culprit for this strange mass hysteria, the report on the news was a possible chemical attack, perhaps some terrorists sent out some special type of gas that temporarily made everyone into psycho murderers, but nobody knew how a terrorist group could poison the entirety of Solitas.

"Number forty seven!?"

That call signaled that her food was ready, or rather the food her boss was having her pickup, she wanted to spit in it or throw it on the ground, but she had certain morals about her, and despite the situation she would never actually stoop that low, no matter how much she believed the person receiving this meal deserved it.

She approached the counter, checked her bag, and picked up the bag with a thank you to the worker and even decided to tip the man at the counter for his service, while also leaving a tip for the cook who made the food, this was the last place on her list anyway. And she was happy to finally be finished with this last job for the day, she only needed to go back to her work place and deliver it.

She had gone to twelve restaurants and one store, then picked up one item that was already prepaid for from each. The list was very specific, she stopped at six dine-in restaurants and six fast food restaurants, and just before those places she stopped at a store to pick up a single 2 liter soda, she was happy she was finally done with this job, and as much as she wanted to taint the food in someway she held back due to her beliefs.

She left the fast food restaurant, which was nothing more than a simple McBonald's restaurant, and she only grabbed their most iconic Item, a simple Big-Bon, however, there was much more in her car: a steak, a cheese pizza slice, a Salad, a bowl of macaroni and cheese, a chili dog, a plate of oysters, a shark steak, a strawberry lava cake, a bucket of fried chicken, a triple bacon cheeseburger, a plate of pancakes with onions on top, and a 2 litter bottle of pink lemonade Fanta.

She settled in her car, sitting In the driver's seat; she started the ignition, checked her mirrors, and pulled away from the restaurant. The trip back to the prison was not a long drive normally, but many roads were blocked off due to them being littered with dead bodies.

As she drove around the long way the quiet took her, she didn't have the radio running, and the windows were up, it was a peaceful drive, a drive that would soon be interrupted by a simple sound, the sound of her scroll getting a text notification, she grabbed it, opened it, and checked to see what the notification was, soon seeing it was a text from her wife, the woman smiled.

My Honey: "Will you be home soon? I cooked dinner and rented that movie for our anniversary tonight, I thought we would eat this amazing dinner I cooked and snuggle in bed and watch that movie."
