Upon escaping from the... undesired parts of Sabaody, you made your way straight back to Shakky's bar, where Rayleigh would then explain to Luffy about his origins, and why he wanted to speak to him specifically.
"EH?! ON THE PIRATE KING'S SHIP?!"
You don't know what you were expecting, but it certainly wasn't that.
"Yes. I'm Silvers Rayleigh, the ship's vice-captain," Rayleigh stated while pouring a cup of alcohol with a smile. His expressiveness compared to Luffy's right now was very casual. "Nice to meet you."
"VICE-CAPTAIN?!" All of you screamed, just as shocked as your captain. Usopp even spat out the juice he was in the middle of drinking.
"You didn't tell them, Hatchan?" Shakky raised a brow.
"We only needed his help with the coating, so..." Hachi replied, coughing weakly.
"I knew you had the same name to someone I read about in the past, but I shrugged it off as a coincidence," You spoke lightly while assisting Chopper in soothing Hachi's wounds. Your memories flashed all the way back to your childhood -- well, to the parts of it you remembered, anyway. "The God of my homeland, Gan Fall, once shared with me a logbook of records consisting of groups of people that have visited Skypiea. You've gone before."
"Ah, the sky island? I remember that. The world is a really big place, isn't it?" Rayleigh chuckled, his familiarity making you smile. Despite his adventure on Skypiea being an awful while ago, you were still quite happy that he'd visited in the past.
"I don't doubt that his name was in a logbook up there!" Nami sobbed, so taken aback by sitting in Rayleigh's presence that she was sobbing. "It's in so many other books down here, too!"
"It's definitely a name everyone hears at least once..." Sanji sweat-dropped.
"Gold Roger..." Brook mumbled while stuffing his mouth with the beans made by Shakky he liked so much, reminiscing, and not acting as surprised as the rest of you. "I seem to vaguely recall a rookie named that long ago, but I'm not so sure..."
How old is Brook if he calls someone as famous as Roger a 'rookie', anyway?
