You watched as Usopp and Luffy agreed to participate in a duel before your own eyes. It wasn't just a verbal disagreement -- it was physical now, too.
Honestly, it felt like things were going downhill; which they were. You just got here, so why were things taking a turn for the worse when your adventure just started?
Usopp was a friend, and you didn't want to lose him this early after just having met him and gotten to know him.
Luffy said it was too late for apologies, though. You had no choice but to let him go, and watch as the duel proceeded. Once it reached 10 o'clock, Luffy hopped off the ship after hours of constant thinking.
"It's 10 o'clock, the promised time. Usopp is coming," Luffy murmured, looking through all the clouds of dirt raising into the air thanks to the wind's overwhelming breeze. He looked back at you, holding one of his hands up, "You guys, don't leave the ship. Got that?!"
None of you said anything, too lost in thought to think of a response, even if it was something as simple as a 'yes'.
Usopp walked out of the clouds of dirt, not responding to any of your cries when you took this as the chance to make him come back. He was focused on one thing, and one thing only -- defeating Luffy and taking the Merry for himself.
You haven't seen him so serious before... It was unnerving.
"So you didn't get cold feet, huh?" Luffy asked, his tone unwavering. "You'd better be sure you're not going to regret this, no matter what happens. This is the duel you wanted."
"Of course. You'd better fight seriously," A blood vessel flowing through Usopp's forehead nearly popped, his immense anger being evident. "I'll turn the tables on you. I've already figured out how to defeat you."
...
"Can't we stop them? Usopp is wounded quite badly!" Chopper said, worry flooding his furry features. He was perched on your head to see the fight better, despite not wanting to watch it. He knew it was important, though.
"If you can't bear to watch this, go inside." Zoro recommended, not even meeting eyes with the reindeer.
