"How is he?" You asked the surgeon beside you, who was still in the process of examining Luffy's detrimental injuries. The Pacifistas were being incredibly annoying, shooting your way whenever they had the chance. Fortunately, after discovering your new power, you were able to reflect their beams back at them with ease. You had to protect Luffy. "Can you stitch him up, maybe?"
"I'm sorry, but first aid won't help him! He needs proper treatment!" The surgeon responded, and a wave of worry was quick to crash over you. "Again, I'm sorry, but he probably won't be able to fight any longer during this war, [Name]-san!"
Ivan kneeled down beside you, their eyes locking onto yours. They could see the worry you held for your captain, and how much you wanted to see him fulfill his wish of rescuing Ace. "Sera Girl... What he's saying is true, Straw Boy is too weak to continue on! I don't like the idea either, but we have no choice but to save Ace Boy without him--!"
Then, Ivan paused abruptly. Luffy managed to peel his eyes open, despite how exhausted and weak he was, and wrapped his hand desperately around Ivan's ankle. The two of you were shocked that he was able to wake back up.
"Ivan-chan..." Luffy muttered weakly, breathing out the dust and dirt initially filling his lungs. "...Could you do me a favor one last time?"
A favor?
Luffy begged for Ivan to inject him with something called the 'energy hormone'. You were confused at first, until you caught onto the context of the request. Ivan could give energy to Luffy if needed, but the one thing you didn't understand yet was the reason for his hesitation.
"I beg you! Ivan-chan!"
Things were rapidly going downhill all the while. Whitebeard got a magma-coated fist to the chest by Akainu, temporarily knocking him down, and Marco and Jozu -- who was the 5th division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates -- got beaten by Kizaru and Aokiji.
"Are you serious about this?! You're asking me to inject another shot of Energy Hormone?! That's insane!" Ivan retaliated, their tone a mix of anger, surprise, and anxiousness. "You gotta stop it now! You've been fighting since Impel Down! You got poisoned and you were almost killed! You're pushing it too far already! Like I said before, Energy Hormone is nothing more than a temporary treatment! If you just keep using it, you will die for sure afterwards!"
