||Edward's P.O.V.||
If my dead heart could beat, it would've soared straight out of my chest. I couldn't believe it. She had finally accepted our bond. My Elliana. My mate. She was currently sleeping peacefully in her nice, cozy bed, snuggled up under the blanket and clutching a pillow to her chest. Not wanting to overstep, I chose to sit in the chair next to her bed, pretending to read a book as I admired her sleeping form.
My lips still felt like they were on fire from our shared kiss. Or shall I say— Kisses. After finally confessing my feelings for her, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest, and I could finally breathe. I inhaled a deep breath, allowing her intoxicating scent to fill my lungs. Believe me when I say that I relished the burn.
A smile spread across my face as I watched her, studying her, memorizing her features for the thousandth time. All I wanted to do was climb in bed with her and hold her close. I yearned to kiss her again. To feel her soft, warm lips molding against mine. Our shared kisses had been... careful. Hesitant. I was fearful of getting too caught up in my own desires to truly kiss her like I craved.
And of course, it wasn't just her lips that I wanted to kiss. I wanted to taste her skin. I longed to explore every square inch of her... Would the rest of her taste just as sweet as her lips? I inhaled a shaky breath at the thought, tearing my gaze from her and forcing myself to read the book in my hands— The Language of Serpents & Serpentine Creatures. What kind of book is this?

Right before six o'clock, just before her alarm went off, I took it upon myself to wake her up. I knelt beside her and placed a kiss upon her cheek, the warmth of her skin sending a tingle down my spine. She shuddered before slowly opening her eyes, gracing me with those gorgeous green orbs.
"Good morning, darling," I greeted her with a huge smile, breathing in her sweet scent. "It's time to wake up."
The faintest of smiles graced her lips as she sat up in bed and stretched her arms over her head, allowing me a quick glimpse of her lower stomach. I forced my eyes from the all-too-tempting sight, my jaw clenching as I locked eyes with her once more.
We hadn't discussed the.. kiss.. yesterday or what it meant for us going forward, so I was a bundle of nerves as she spoke...
"..About yesterday.."
I swallowed hard around the sudden lump in my throat, holding her gaze. "What about it?"
She pulled her lower lip between her teeth, and I was half tempted to say 'to hell with talking' and crash my lips against hers. God, I needed to taste her again.
"..Um.." She trailed off nervously, running a hand through her hair that was messy from sleep. "What does it.. mean.. for us?"
The venom in my mouth ran dry, my stomach rolling in an anxious manner. The butterflies were that violent.
"...What do you want it to mean?" I asked in a whisper, involuntarily leaning towards her.
Blood pooled deliciously beneath her cheeks. I tasted her blush in the air, setting my throat and lungs ablaze, but I didn't mind in the slightest. Her scent also lit my loins on fire— A sensation that enthralled me. I've never experienced attraction to this magnitude, so I wasn't used to the... intensity.
"W-Why are you asking me?" She stuttered, blinking rapidly. "...I asked you first."
She grinned sheepishly, her blush spreading to her neck. I couldn't help but laugh at how adorable she was.
