Chapter 65: Oliver

An Oakley vs Janae fight was not on my agenda today yet here I was being the calm sibling for once.

June had taken the twins out which I was very grateful for. I could tell that all the screaming and yelling was making them uncomfortable and was not something that they needed to hear.

However, as soon as the three of them left the room the arguing resumed.

"You are not responsible for me Janae. It's the other way around."

"You are 2 minutes older than me Oakley! You are not responsible for me either. We are supposed to take care of each other, not just you!" Janae responded.

She was right here. However, Oakley's overprotective nature was something we had just become used to. He didn't seem to be changing any time soon.

"Okay Okay," I went and stood in the middle of the two of them. "I think both of you are right and both of you are wrong. As judge and moderator of this situation, I have reached a consensus."

The two of them shifted their angry glares from each other to me.

"I have decided that Oakley, you need to calm down on your restrictions for the three of us. We are not younger than you, we are all the same age and want to be seen as equal, you also need a nap. You're grouchy when you don't sleep," I finished with a smirk.

He didn't seem to appreciate my comment there but it was the truth, unfortunately. Thankfully he kept his remark to himself.

"Janae however, I think that you need to be more considerate of Oakley and his ways. He always has and I believe that he always will want to look after us. That's just who he is. You should also tell him what medicines you are giving him and shouldn't force him to do things he doesn't want to. Overall neither of you likes the other one making you do things against your will so let's think about that."

They both remained quiet.

Look at me go, being all wise and shit.

"I'm sorry," Oakley said so softly I almost missed it.

Oakley apologizing was a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for most. I could count on one hand the number of times he had said he was sorry first.

"I'm sorry too," Janae went up and wrapped her arms around Oakley in a hug.

"Aww so sweet. I take full credit in this reunion," I went to the two of them and joined in on their hug.

The two of them laughed a little and let me in on the hug.

"But I wasn't kidding on the grouchy part Oak, you need to take a nap."

He glared at me and I returned it with a smile. "Love you!!!" I said very dramatically as I pushed Janae away and fully wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug.

"Ew yuck get away from me," He shoved me away before I could kiss his cheek.

"But I just want to love my big brother," I continued pouting and trying to hug him.

What can I say, Oakley is my favorite person to annoy.

"Go awayyyy" He pushed me again before leaving the dining room and heading towards our bedroom.

Perfect, the plan 'get Oakley to bed by annoying him' was working perfectly.

Now with him being gone, I turned to Janae, "To be fair, I think you were in the right here. I just couldn't say that in front of him and had to treat both of you fairly."

"He's something else alright."

I nodded, "You could say that again."
