Last Chapter recap - Owen

"Owen?! What are you doing?" A voice startled me causing me to lose my balance and fall backward off of the counter.

A sharp pain shot through my arm.

There was noise. There was lots of noise but I couldn't make out who was who and who was saying what.

I just felt myself being lifted up and carried away.

I was the one who walked in on Owen standing on top of the counter.

What he was doing up there was still unknown.

I watched as he got startled and fell back onto his arm.

I was the one who ran to his side and scooped him up.

Hearing the commotion my siblings all rushed out of their rooms.

They were all panicking and so was I.

I was holding him in my arms as he cried from the pain.

"Shhh Owen, I know, I'm sorry, we are going to help you." I rocked him trying to get him to calm down.

"Oliver, what happened?" June asked.

"I don't know, he was standing on the counter looking for something and then I called out to him and he fell back and landed on his arm," I told them.

My sisters led me to their room where I placed the still crying Owen on their bed.

"Okay, Owen. I need you to take a deep breath, I know it hurts but we are going to help you feel better. Now I'm going to move your arm and try to see if it is broken. It may hurt a little but I need you to try and be calm and if the pain is too much just yell stop and I'll stop immediately." June said to a nervous and still sobbing Owen.

She gently started to move his arm around.

This wasn't our first time dealing with potentially broken bones. Oakley and I have had our fair share of breaks and fractures and such that June specifically has fixed.

June was better with injuries and Janae was better with sickness but they both worked so well together.

Watching my sisters was amazing because they didn't even have to speak to each other to know what the other needed.

Like now when Janae came in with ice and handed it immediately to June who put it on Owens arm.

"Well Owen, good news is, your arm is not broken. The bad news is, it might still hurt for a few days." June told Owen who had calmed down a bit. He was still crying a bit but he was much calmer than he had been.

Oakley then asked the million dollar question "So Owen, what were you doing standing on top of the counter where you know you could get hurt?"

His eye widened like he just remembered something.

"I can't tell you." He said quietly.

He fidgeted with his fingers and shirt like he was scared or nervous.

"Why can't you tell us, Owen?" I asked confused as to what he was trying to hide.

He shook his head. "I pinky promised that I wouldn't tell you, guys."

Oakley raised his eyebrows. "Oh? Who did you promise? Jenifer? Were you looking for something for her?"

Bingo.
