I woke up and I was still in the cell. Oliver was holding me and seemed to have fallen asleep too.
I slowly sat up, trying to make sure that I didn't wake him up.
My back was still in a lot of pain but it was manageable.
I looked around and June and Oakley were missing. Where did they go?
"Oliver," I shook his arm. "Oliver!"
He woke up with a bit of a start. "Janae? Are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine, but where are June and Oakley?"
"Oh, Father requested to see the two of them but they didn't know why. They said they would be back soon but I fell asleep too so I don't really know how long ago that was."
Great, so who knows what Oakley and June are up to or how long they have been gone?
"Where is Lucus? He might know where they are and maybe he can let us out."
Oliver shook his head, "I don't know I haven't seen him since he took our twins."
"The Twins!" I shouted, "Jenifer and Owen have no clue where we are. Oh my God we need to get out of here and check on them," I panicked.
"Relax Janae, don't worry as soon as we got here Oakley hired a nanny to take care of the twins and all their needs. Oakley said she was a very nice lady and that she would take care of them."
Good, that eased my nerves a bit. We were supposed to help take care of them and help them find their brother and yet we had hardly spoken to them since we got home. I felt like a horrible, I guess cousin?
I still hadn't wrapped my head around the fact that we were right and that they were related to us or the fact that Father lied to us about not having any other family.
It was all too much and the pain in my back was not helping me feel any better.
My siblings might be upset with me but I didn't care and planned to go back for more.
Now we only had 46 more to go! Yay!
By we, I mean just me and Oliver, June, and Oakley were NOT getting any strikes and I was sure about that.
"Oakley is pissed you know?" Oliver said.
"Yeah I figured he would be but I don't care, he physically can't take any more hits and I physically can't bear the thought of June feeling like I do now."
"Janae, the way you feel about June getting hit is the same way Oakley feels about us getting hit and you know that."
"I know but still." I looked up at Oliver, "He pushes himself too far and we both know that he suffers in silence."
Oliver nodded, he knew Oakley better than I ever could.
"He doesn't sleep. Every time I have ever woken up in the night he is wide awake. He goes to sleep after me and wakes up before me. I genuinely think that he only sleeps a few hours a night," Oliver confesses.
"Have you asked him about this or ever talked to him about this?"
He shook his head, "Every time I try to talk to Oakley about himself he pushes me off and says I don't need to worry about him."
"We need to get out of here and find them," I said and stood up.
"Woah Janae, June specifically told me that you were not supposed to walk. Let me at least carry you."
I rolled my eyes at my sister's protectiveness. "Fine but how are we supposed to get out?"
"I got this Janae, watch and learn," Oliver said and then scooped me up and walked over to the door of the cell where the guards were.
