"Rani Sahiba, please don't try to make me understand. Because whatever happened could have been avoided if you and the others had just listened to me. Not only me, Adwait said the same thing. But did our words even matter? No. They never reached your minds." Shivansh says, his voice edged with frustration. Jivika watches him, understanding his anger, but she refuses to back down.
"I know what you are saying is true, Shiv but some things are in the hands of destiny. No matter how much we try, we can't change them." Jivika says while Shivansh lets out a cold chuckle, shaking his head.
"How long are we going to keep blaming destiny for our own mistakes? When something good happens, it's because of our hard work but when things go wrong, suddenly it's all fate's fault? What kind of illusion are we living in, huh? And I am not saying this without reason. I have faced the consequences of my mistakes before and I don't want anyone else to go through that same pain." Shivansh remark looking at Jivika who stiffens. She knows exactly what Shivansh is referring to, the weight of past regrets pressing between them. But before she can say anything, a knock on the door interrupts the tense silence. She turns, finding Abhinav standing there, a calm expression on his face.
"Chachu, please come in." Jivika says, stepping aside.
Abhinav offers her a small smile and walks in, his gaze shifting between Jivika and Shivansh. Then, his voice turns gentle as he looks at Jivika.
"Jivu, if you don't mind, can you leave me and Shivansh alone for a few minutes?" Abhinav's voice turns gentle as he looks at Jivika.
"Of course, Chachu. I will send coffee for you both." Jivika hesitates for a moment but then nods. With that, she walks out, leaving the uncle and nephew alone in the room.
Abhinav steps closer, placing a reassuring hand on Shivansh's shoulder.
"Chaliye, balcony mein baithke baatein karte hain." Abhinav says.
(Let's sit in the balcony and talk.)
Shivansh exhales slowly and nods, following his uncle towards the balcony attached to the room.
The afternoon sun filters through the balcony, casting long shadows over the polished floor. A light breeze rustles the curtains as both men settle into their chairs, the heat of the day making the air feel heavier. A tense silence stretches between them until after a few minutes, a maid arrives with coffee, placing the cups on the small table. Abhinav picks up one and hands it to Shivansh before taking the other for himself.
"What are you really angry about, Shivansh? Is it because someone tried to kidnap Kiyansh? Or is it because you are afraid Kavyansh might go back to how he used to be if something happens to his son?" Taking a slow sip, Abhinav finally breaks the silence
Shivansh grips his cup tightly, his jaw clenching. He doesn't respond but his silence is enough of an answer. Abhinav sighs, leaning back in his chair.
"I still remember the day Pratap Bhaiya's first wife betrayed him. I saw him break that day, saw him cry alone and right then, I made a decision. The one who hurt my brother would never know peace. Even today, I stand by that decision. That woman- I haven't let her find peace and I never will." Abhinav utters as his voice turns colder, laced with old bitterness. And Shivansh finally looks up, eyes dark with understanding.
"What are you trying to say, Chachu?" Shivansh asks.
"I am saying that just like you have always protected Kavyansh from harm, you have the same strength to protect Kiyansh. But taking your anger out on your elder brother isn't the right way. When Kavyansh decided to send Kiyansh to school, none of us- not him, not even you knew that our enemies would stoop so low as to send a doppelganger. So, instead of letting anger cloud your judgment, I suggest you sit down, talk to Kavyansh calmly and decide what needs to be done next." Abhinav replies looking at Shivansh who exhales sharply, his fingers tightening around the cup but he nods. He knows his uncle is right.
