Ritika and Kavyansh walk into the warehouse, a place owned by Shivansh. It’s Kavyansh’s first time here and as he looks around he feels a quiet sense of pride. Everything is well-organized just as it should be. Soldiers stand in perfect rows, their weapons ready. In the distance, painful screams and weak whimpers echo through the air as criminals are tortured for information. The scent of sweat and blood lingers, making it clear that this is not a place for the weak.

Ritika walks ahead, her heels clicking sharply against the cold floor. Kavyansh follows, his steps softer but just as firm. People believe he stays away from the Mafia world, that he doesn’t get involved like his brother and sister. But the truth is different. Kavyansh doesn’t need to show his power. He doesn’t rule with fear or loud threats. He is the kind of danger that comes without warning.

Soon, they reach a large metal door secured with multiple locks. Ritika presses her thumb against the scanner and with a low beep the door unlocks. The heavy steel slides open with a deep groan, revealing a dimly lit cell.

Inside, the doppelganger sits in the farthest corner, her knees pulled to her chest with her head bowed. Her long, messy hair covers most of her face. She doesn’t move at first. But when she hears footsteps, she looks up and instantly her eyes land on Ritika first making fear flickers across her face.

Then, her gaze shifts to Kavyansh and she stiffens. Her eyes widen in shock. Because this is wrong. According to her boss, Kavyansh never steps into this world. He stays away from the Mafia or away from the blood and violence. Yet, here he is right in front of her. His dark eyes hold no anger, no cruelty. But that only makes him scarier. Because people who don’t show their emotions, people who don’t threaten or yell are the ones one should fear the most.

A cold shiver runs down her spine. Her boss has no idea and neither did she. Kavyansh is not uninvolved. He is just the kind of danger no one sees coming.

Ritika tilts her head, her lips curling into a wicked smirk as she crouches in front of the doppelganger.

“Aww, little baby looks scared.” Ritika mocks in a syrupy, fake baby tone.

The doppelganger flinches, pressing her back against the cold ground as her breath ragged.

“Let me go. I won’t say anything to anyone, I swear. Just let me go.” The woman pleads, desperation clear in her trembling voice.

Kavyansh stands a few steps away, his expression unreadable. His sharp eyes trace the features of the woman before him. The face has a lot of similarities with his Lotus yet there are many things that make his Lotus different. The doppelganger's voice is too high-pitched. Meanwhile, Varenya’s is soft but firm, laced with an elegance no one can replicate. There is no mole above the doppelganger's lips which Varenya has. And lastly the unimaginable aura that Varenya holds, that too is missing in the doppelganger.

Suddenly, the doppelganger does something that makes Kavyansh's blood boil.

“Kavyansh, please! Save me from your sister!”
