A/N: Wattpad is down for many users, including me. While some suggested using a VPN, my brother advised against it. Thankfully, a kind reader shared a trick that helped me access the app again. Unfortunately, I lost 5 chapters saved in drafts. I usually don’t save them there due to past losses but with exams keeping me busy, I didn’t think much of it. So, I am rewriting them now. This chapter isn’t edited and doesn’t feel like the original version but it’s the best I could do for now. I will try to upload the next two chapters on Stck (paid) by tomorrow.

Varenya walks with slow, deliberate steps toward where Kalindi and Shrikant stand. Her heels click against the marble floor, echoing in the silence of the room. Her eyes are cold, fixed on the two people who now look smaller than ever. There is no need for words because fear already dances in their eyes. She stops just a few feet away, folds her arms and cocks her head to the side. There is a trace of amusement on her lips as she watches them shrink back as if her presence alone could burn them.

"When Chachu first told us about you two, we were honestly confused. We couldn't figure out how you had any connection with a snake like Debanjon Chowdhury. But then, it made sense." Varenya begins, her voice smooth, her tone mocking.

"After all, evil attracts evil. Monsters like to keep each other company, don't they?" Varenya asks while Kalindi flinches.

"You thought joining hands with these criminals would help you get revenge on us. You thought you would finally get your moment. But you forgot one little thing- evil always collapses in front of truth. And no matter how long it takes, the light always exposes the darkness."

Kalindi's lips tremble while Shrikant lowers his gaze, silently praying this nightmare ends soon. But Varenya isn't finished.

"Your mistake was thinking you could touch even a hair of this family and walk away alive." She says, walking closer until she is nearly nose-to-nose with Kalindi who glares, trying to hold on to some pride. But her act crumbles when Varenya steps even closer.

"Oh hello! Aankhein neeche karo apni. Warna ek second nahi lagega mujhe yeh aankhein noch nikalne mein." Varenya snaps, her eyes blazing.

(Oh hello! Lower your eyes. Otherwise it won't take me a second to rip these eyes out.)

Kalindi jerks her head down instantly, her fists clenched so tight her nails dig into her own skin. Her body shakes- not in anger but in fear. She knows this isn't a threat. Varenya means every word.

Meanwhile, Pratap's hands curl into fists. He looks at Kalindi like she is filth, like just the sight of her makes him sick. Kavyansh stands beside him, quiet but furious, his eyes locked on the woman who shattered his childhood. This woman has ruined lives, destroyed innocence, built her throne on other people's pain.

Pratap speaks first, his voice filled with the weight of heartbreak.

"I will never forget what you did. I will never forgive how you took away my my child before he or she even had the chance to live. Just because some pandit told you that the baby would be a girl." He says quietly but every word hits like a stone.

Kalindi sways slightly as if his words are physical blows.

"She is the reason why I lived years in silence. She is the reason my son grew up feeling unloved. She is the reason my wife cried herself to sleep." Pratap continues.

"Honestly, Dadi had the worst taste." Ritika scoffs, crossing her arms.

"This woman looks like she belongs in a black-and-white movie next to my Taiji." She says aloud, rolling her eyes.
