"Again?"
"What? It's not like I'm doing anything to get this attention."
Dk rolls his eyes as he watches yet another girl excitedly hand his ever-loving friend a box of what seems to be handmade chocolates. The girl gushes and stammers over the words she's been practicing in her head, then bolts off to join her friends waiting at the end of the hall. They praise her for her bravery in confessing to Mingyu, though none of her words were truly understandable, lost in all her stammering and jitteriness.
Mingyu simply smiles and accepts the box, not even bothering to say thank you. He then turns around to place it behind him in his locker.
Dk can only groan when he sees the contents of Mingyu's locker.
There wasn't a book or notebook in sight; it was completely drowned by little Valentine trinkets, letters, flowers, and, of course, boxes and boxes of chocolates.
"Dude, stop complaining to me. It's not my fault no girl wants you." Mingyu teases, carefully placing the box onto another one, holding his breath as he finally releases it and steps back, admiring the chocolate Tetris forming in his locker.
"Hey, that's not true! I did get some, okay? I just hate that smug look on your face every time you get one." Dk retorts, opening his own locker right next to Mingyu's.
"Right, right, sorry for looking this handsome." Mingyu jokes, only adding to Dk's annoyance.
"Whatever, dude. We better get moving if we don't want to be late for class."
The two close their lockers, ready to walk to their respective classrooms, when Dk suddenly feels a tug on his sweater. He turns around, a bit surprised to see a tall, pale man standing before him, a bright pink letter in hand.
"Um, this is for you." the man merely says before walking away, leaving the two friends dumbfounded.
Dk stares at the letter, then glances at the back of the man walking away from them, imprinting his image into his mind so he won't forget.
"Whoa..." Dk finally utters, his eyes still dazed. He watches as the stranger disappears around the corner at the end of the hall, not once looking back at them.
"That's a first." Dk continues, then turns to Mingyu, who is just as surprised.
"Bet you haven't received a letter from a boy, huh?" Dk brags, waving the letter in Mingyu's face.
Mingyu snaps back from his own daze and swallows hard, trying not to let Dk's teasing get to him.
"I did, okay. Multiple times, too." he lies, not wanting to look like a loser. Though, deep down, it feels strange to lie about something like that in the first place.
"Were they as good-looking as him?" Dk prods, already knowing his friend is lying, but wanting to play along and see how far Mingyu will go with the lie.
Mingyu can only pout, not wanting to admit that not only had he lied, but also that no one else looked as good as the man from earlier.
Not only that...
He knew him, actually.
Which was what shocked Mingyu more. Seeing that face appear out of nowhere took him back to his teenage years—fond memories he had cherished.
He thought he'd never see him again, and yet, there he was, handing a love letter to his dumb friend.
"Whatever, let's just go to class." Mingyu finally speaks, walking away from the lockers.

Mingyu was never the type to listen to lectures. Oddly enough, he still managed to get good grades, despite putting in the least amount of effort in class.
