Office rumors.
A pain to some, especially if those people are the subject of said rumors.
But for a larger part of the office—particularly the drained, tired, and bored employees—office rumors are probably the highlight of their exhausting and repetitive day.
A perfect pair to their bitter coffee as they sit and unwind during their breaks.
Today was like any other day at the company. Two women sat in the break room, enjoying biscuits and coffee after a busy afternoon.
"Don't you think the president is pushing Chief Jeon too hard?" the sleek blonde asks, stirring sugar into her coffee. With her other hand, she reaches for the tin of biscuits, placing them onto her plate.
"You think so too?" her brunette colleague replies, her voice dropping to a whisper as if afraid someone might overhear. Her eyes widened, clearly relieved to find someone else shares her observation.
"It's obvious, especially with how blatantly he's bullying our poor chief." she says, then takes a bite of her biscuit.
The brunette sighs, her shoulders slumping as she thinks of their kind superior. "Chief Jeon is honestly too kind." she says. "I mean, during our last meeting, I went back to the function room to grab my glasses. I was surprised to see the president and Chief Jeon were still there. The president was just standing there, looking all snobby while watching Chief Jeon pick up scattered papers off the floor. He didn't even help at all. He just stood there, watching the chief like he's some kind of ant."
The two women knitted their brows, lips on the rims of their mugs, taking small sips of the bitter beverage.
In their minds, they speculated about what could have happened that day, attempting to piece together the missing details with the scant clues they had.
That's the danger of rumors: when you fill in the blanks with your own assumptions, it's all too easy to create a distorted narrative.
Well, to no one's surprise really...they were absolutely wrong about everything.

"Wonwoo~"
"Mingyu, for the last time, stop touching me during our meetings." Wonwoo said, gathering his things after the meeting had ended. His hands, busy, piling up materials and putting away his tablet and laptop.
"You were ignoring me the whole time, so I just wanted to at least touch you." Mingyu whines, watching his boyfriend continue to ignore him.
Wonwoo finally looks up at the other man, hands on his hips as he glares at him. "You were treating my thigh like it was some stress ball, Mingyu."
Mingyu merely shrugs, not really seeing the problem with what he did during the meeting. "What? No one could see it anyway. I was being careful. I just reached under the table when everyone was focused on the presentation."
Wonwoo sighs, not even surprised by Mingyu's response. "Excuses. That's all I'm hearing right now from you Mingyu."
Mingyu steps closer, his hands itching to embrace his boyfriend, especially now after seeing him a bit angry. Mingyu doesn't admit it, but he enjoys it when Wonwoo looks at him like he's some brat. The feeling of being under Wonwoo's intense gaze, just exciting him even more. "But Wonwoo, we haven't had a day together. All you've been doing is work."
