"What are you guys doing?"
Mingyu walks into the room and sees a few of the members huddled together in front of a laptop, grinning as they all watch the screen. Meanwhile, one member sits at the back, completely focused on his phone.
As he walked in, they didn't notice him right away, too caught up in whatever was happening on the laptop. Mingyu raised an eyebrow, curious, but couldn't help the amused smile that crept up on his face as he watched how into it they all were.
"Hey, Mingyu, get a load of this!" Joshua suddenly called out, grinning from ear to ear as he finally noticed Mingyu by the door. He leaned over the laptop, ready to share whatever they were looking at.
Joshua swiftly spun the laptop around so it faced Mingyu, who blinked rapidly at the sudden brightness of the screen. He immediately squinted, trying to adjust his vision. His eyes slowly focused, and once they did, confusion washed over his face as he processed the image displayed.
"What is that?" Mingyu asked, sounding a little thrown off as he squinted harder, trying to make sense of it.
"Apparently, it's popular with the fans." Jeonghan explained, clearly entertained by Mingyu's confusion.
Mingyu, still staring at the screen, felt a tug of recognition. There was something strangely familiar about it. As his eyes roamed the screen, he realized with a sudden jolt that it was a video of him. And...Wonwoo? His heart skipped a beat.
"Is that me and Wonwoo hyung?" Mingyu asked slowly, his voice filled with uncertainty, still not fully grasping what was happening.
Joshua nodded eagerly, clearly amused by how slow Mingyu was to catch on. "Yeah, apparently they're shipping you both."
"Shipping us? To where?" Mingyu asked, genuinely baffled, his head tilting slightly to the side as if he had missed an essential detail. He was trying to piece things together, but it wasn't making much sense to him.
Minghao chuckled, shaking his head with a small grin. "No, idiot. It's not about actually 'shipping' you somewhere. It's just a term they use when they pair you up with another member."
Mingyu's face twisted in thought, processing the information. "Oh... I see. So what's the big deal?"
Joshua raised an eyebrow, clearly ready to explain the whole situation to Mingyu in the simplest way possible. "Well, it looks like they're pairing us up... like, romantically?" He tilted his head, as if trying to make sense of something that should be obvious, and waved his hands around in a half-gesture to emphasize his point.
Mingyu blinked, his confusion turning into mild shock. "Like... boyfriend and boyfriend?" His voice was hesitant, testing out the words, unsure they even made sense.
Joshua, Jeonghan, and Minghao all nodded enthusiastically, their grins widening. "Exactly." Joshua said. "They analyze every little thing, Mingyu. See how they're editing these videos? They break down every glance, every word you and Wonwoo exchange, like it's some kind of secret code. It's all part of the 'shipping' process."
Mingyu's mind raced as he slowly started to piece it all together. He stared at the screen, his expression softening as he paid more attention to the content. This time, he noticed the tiny details—little gestures and glances—that might seem insignificant to anyone else but were being picked apart by fans.
"Huh... you're right. Never knew people thought of us like that." Mingyu muttered, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "But then again, it all seems innocent enough. I mean, it's just for fun, right?"
Joshua smiled warmly at Mingyu's innocent perspective, clearly fond of how genuine he was. He was about to respond when he noticed Hoshi, who had been busy with his phone, wasn't paying attention to their conversation. Joshua nudged him with his elbow and motioned for him to listen.
