"Uhhh, sorry for walking in on your... makeup session?"
Wonwoo looks back, holding lipstick in one hand and a mirror in the other, his lips painted a bold shade of red, practically screaming for attention.
"I can explain."
"If this is your way of coming out..." Mingyu dramatically sucks his teeth and tilts his head as he takes in Wonwoo's face. "I guess you could say this is a rather bold way to do it."
Wonwoo carefully places the lipstick down and slowly turns around, facing Mingyu fully.
"Let me just expl—"
"I mean, you could've just told me without the lipstick, bruh." Mingyu interrupts, grinning like he just witnessed the most amusing thing in the world. "I would've believed you, no questions asked." He shrugs, casually waving his hand like it's no big deal. "You being gay doesn't change how I see you—unless, of course, you're the super fabulous type, and this is just how things are going to be from now on."
"You done?"
Mingyu glances at Wonwoo, who's now shooting daggers at him. His arms are crossed tightly, and if looks could kill, Mingyu would be dust by now.
"Yeah, I'm done." Mingyu plops down on a chair, right across the bed where Wonwoo was sitting.
"It's a favor Hyejin-ah asked me to do." Wonwoo explains, rubbing his temple like he's the victim in a tragic play.
"Hyejin-ah? The freshman in our club? What's this got to do with her?" Mingyu raises an eyebrow, utterly intrigued.
"She runs this small, adorable makeup store and wanted reviews and pictures to help promote it." Wonwoo sighs, his gaze fixed on the lipstick he'd set down. "And somehow, I ended up agreeing to all of this."
"Wow, how nice of you to do this, Wonwoo." Mingyu shakes his head in disbelief, his eyebrows raised higher than ever. A hint of sarcasm slips through as he says this to Wonwoo, which, of course, Wonwoo picks up on.
Wonwoo rolls his eyes at Mingyu. "I don't mind. I finished all the boring stuff I had to do anyway." He shrugs, but there's no hiding the crippling embarrassment he's feeling after getting caught in this situation—especially by Mingyu.
"Dude, but you suck at applying it though." Mingyu snickers, clearly enjoying himself a bit too much.
"You think I don't know that?" Wonwoo groans. "I've been slapping this stuff on, erasing it, and trying again for about 10 minutes now." He gestures to his lips which were now a smudged mess. "I just can't seem to make it look right. My lips are starting to burn too from the constant friction of wiping it off."
Mingyu shakes his head, utterly amused. He stands up from the chair with a clap that's far too cheery for Wonwoo's liking, and then strolls over to where his roommate is sitting like he's about to perform a grand rescue.
"Here, let me do it."
Wonwoo looks up at him, genuinely baffled.
"You know how?"
"Dude...I grew up with sisters. I had the unfortunate experience of being their makeup doll for pretty much my entire childhood. But hey, because of that, all my past girlfriends really liked me for knowing all this stuff."
Wonwoo stares at him, eyes narrowing in skepticism.
"You're not just trying to make me look like an even bigger clown, are you?"
Mingyu, unfazed, casually sits down, and pinches Wonwoo's cheek.
"You already look like one every day, hyung." he says with an exaggerated shrug. "You don't need makeup for that."
