"Dude, what's taking you so long?" Jungkook complains as his back hits the mattress of his friend's bed.

"Just wait, will you? Your whining isn't going to make this any faster." Mingyu replies, picking up the tenth shirt hanging in his closet. He holds it up to his body, checking himself in the mirror, turning left and right to see if this is finally the one. A pile of discarded clothes forms at his feet as he tosses aside the ones he deems not good enough.

"Mingyu, damn it! It's not like we're going to some fancy place. Heck, we're not even going anywhere else—it's literally just my house." Jungkook says, sitting up on the bed and judging the living daylights out of him. Mingyu finally picks a shirt, making Jungkook sigh in relief.

"What's so wrong with looking good?" Mingyu asks as he runs his hands through his hair, his tongue sticking out as he focuses on laying each strand in the perfect place.

Jungkook rolls his eyes. He knows his friend better than anyone else, and he knows for a fact that all this isn't just for the sake of looking good. It's for the sake of looking good for someone.

That someone being his older brother.

"He's not at home, by the way."

Mingyu instantly freezes midway through tying his shoes. He mutters something under his breath before forcing the biggest smile he can muster.

"Oh yeah?"

Jungkook smirks at the sight of Mingyu's quivering lips. He looks as if he just wants to shed off all his clothes and call it a day. Yet here he was, lying to Jungkook as if he hadn't already been caught.

"Dude, I'm going there to hang out with you, not Wonwoo hyung."

"Never said it was Wonwoo hyung, though." Jungkook smiles as he watches Mingyu swallow hard, his eyes blinking rapidly as he tries to escape the trap he just walked into.

"I may have been talking about my other brother, or even my cousin, or even my dad for that matter. You're really making it obvious that you're down bad for Wonwoo hyung, Mingyu." Jungkook stands up from the bed and checks himself in the mirror, gently pushing the strands of hair that had fallen to the side of his face, then tucking them behind his ear.

"Oh...so he is there?" Mingyu tries his best to hide the glimmer of hope in his eyes, but Jungkook, being the ever-observant one, quickly catches a glimpse of it in the mirror and stifles a laugh.

"Nope, he's probably off at one of those boring Comic-Con things." Jungkook turns around and walks toward Mingyu, who is still on the ground, fumbling with the laces of his shoes.

"You still going or not?"

"Of course, dude. Like I said, I'm there to hang out with you."

"Sure you are."

They arrive shortly at Jungkook's place after a quick 10-minute ride on his motorcycle. Mingyu looks down at himself, sighing as he thinks about what a waste it was to spend all that time picking the perfect outfit if he wasn't even going to be there to see it.

"Just head up to my room. I'll check on something in the kitchen first."

Mingyu nods and makes his way up the stairs, his feet feeling heavy as his mind keeps wandering elsewhere.

"Oh, Mingyu. It's been a while."

Mingyu grabs hold of the doorknob, his wobbly legs betraying him the second his eyes land on a freshly showered, half-naked Wonwoo. A white towel is wrapped tightly around his waist.
