Emily's POV:

When we got back to the Girls Home, Alicia carried me on her hip back inside. As we closed the front door, Monica came rushing towards us.

"Emily hon, how are you?" she asked. I shrugged, not knowing really what to say. She looked at Alicia. "What did the doctor say?"

"She will be fine, but in pain. She can take Advil if she needs too. She also has to use crutches for 6 weeks and we have to take her back to the hospital in 2 weeks." Alicia responded.

"Love, are you in any pain right now?" She asked taking me from Alicia.

"No, I'm okay. I guess it's just all the stress from this morning." I said while being passed to Monica.

She nodded her head. "You have been doing lots today Alicia, thank you. You may take the rest of the day off from chores." Monica smiled, while walking away with me.

Monica carried me down the hall and up the stairs. When she came to my bedroom, she placed me on my unmade bed.

"I suggest you get some sleep sweetie, it will help you forget about the pain in your leg." She pulled my blankets over me and tucked me in. I closed my eyes when I heard her close the door.

Monica's POV:

The poor thing, I can't help but favour her, not only is she the youngest one here, but she's also the cutest. I walked down the stairs and couldn't help but notice 2 young ladies standing by my desk. I rushed over and introduced myself. The one looked strangely familiar off pictures Emily showed me.

Victoria's POV:

We finally came to the Girls Orphanage after my mom and I agreed on getting me a little sister. I have been an only child all my life and now that I am finally allowed to be a legal guardian to a child, it was time to adopt. I couldn't be more excited.

As the caretaker, which I finally learned her name was Monica Bright, began to talk to us I couldn't help but look around the place. I noted how small it was for a bunch of teen girls to be living in.

"We have lots of different teen girls to choose from and all are very special in their own way." Monica started. "Oh! I almost forgot, we actually have 1 girl who isn't a teen but 10 years old, but still lives with us. She is very shy and sweet, but once you get to know her she will open right up." She had a glassy look in her eyes. "But anywho, I will let you go and meet some of the girls. And please, Ms. Justice, don't be offended if some don't realize who you are. None of the girls have any sort of tech devices."

I absentmindedly nodded my head, but my brain was stuck on the mention of the 10-year-old girl.

"Ms. Bright...." I started.

"Oh please! Call me Monica as you wish!" she said.

I smiled. " Monica...would you please show me where this sweet 10-year-old girl is? I would like to meet her."

"Oh, Emily? Sure thing. Just to warn you, she has had a rough morning so she might be a little down." She told us while leading us up a flight of stairs. Monica stopped right outside her door. "I almost forgot to tell you she is like your biggest fan so she might be a little overwhelmed." I nodded my head and smiled.

She quietly opened the door and we saw a young skinny blonde head sitting on her bed. She was under her covers reading a book but looked up when she heard us come in.

"Are you?... That's Victoria...how?..."The girl started to cry.

I rushed over to her and sat down beside her. "Why are you crying, honey? Did I scare you?"

She shook her head and looked up at me with huge blue eyes with tears brimming over. "No, it is just that this can't be happening, you are my role model and out of all the places in the world, you are here sitting next to me."

Wow, that was so sweet. We were definitely adopting her. But I couldn't get ahead of myself, I had to find out more about her.

"How about we play a little game. I ask you a question, and you answer it and then afterwards I will too. So tell me your name and your age." I said, gently holding her hand.

"My name is Emily and I just turned 10 years old," she said shyly, but with a smile on her face.

"Well my name is Victoria and I just turned 20 years old." I said winking at her. "Now what's your favourite colour?"

"My favorite colours are blue and turquoise," she said.

"Well look at that my favourite colour is turquoise too! I think you would be a perfect sister/daughter for me." I exclaimed.

"Wait, what? You want to adopt me? Me? Really?" Emily asked, with a big smile on her face.

I looked over at my mom and Monica, who were talking in the back of the room. "I will be right back," I said to her.

I walked over to my mom and pulled her aside privately. "Do you like her? She seems really sweet. I really want to adopt her."

"Well good thing you said that because I had a feeling you would, so Monica gave me her adoption folder." She handed it to me and I looked in. 10 visits to the hospital in the past 4 months? Oh my, the poor girl.

"Are you sure you want her? We haven't even met any of the other girls." My mom asked me quietly.

"Yup I am sure, I'm positive." I smiled at my mom and then walked over to Monica. "We want to adopt Emily."

Emily's POV:

I can not believe it. The person who I have looked up to, my role model, was here in my room! She seemed even nicer in person too.  She walked over to her mom and they started whispering and pointing at me. I just couldn't believe it.
