Emily's POV:
I typed in slowly on Google, "Victoria Justice." I clicked on images and was shocked to see what the results held.
Pictures of my mom of course but also her with Max, and her with Jessi, a lot of them seemed to be her with me. Times when I didn't even know there was anyone, the paparazzi were there, invading our privacy. Shuddering I backed out of the images and clicked on the first link instead. It was mom's official website. There were more pictures but there were also biographies, videos, news, even some games!
I got caught up in the website but got startled when I heard knocking on my door. I slammed the laptop shut and pulled it closer to me.
"Um, come in." I called out.
Victoria peeked her head in and then fully entered. Oh no, I forgot the trouble I might be in. I gulped. But instead of scolding or being disappointed in me she greeted me warmly.
"Good morning sweetie." She came over and hugged me then gave me a kiss on the head.
I tried not to hang my mouth open, she forgot? I wasn't complaining though.
"Erm, hi." I squeaked out. I hugged my knees to my chest with my laptop now being hugged to me also.
"Whatcha doing up here? I heard you went on a walk with grandma, how was that?" She asked politely.
I looked at her up and down, looking, scratch that, searching for something to tell me that she wasn't this happy. That she was actually mad with me, but no.
"I was just doing stuff." I responded back twiddling my hair with my fingers. "And yeah, Grandma and I went for a walk. It was nice."
"Well I'm glad." She smiled. "Why don't we go to something? The four of us. We should spend the day together. You want to do that?"
Heck yeah I did. But not with this suspicion and guilt rising over me. I tried my hardest to not let it show.
"Sure!" I agreed.
"Fantastic, I'm going to go tell the others and then go get ready. Come down when you're ready!" She told me then exited out of the room.
I sat there for a minute deciding what to do. After I closed all the windows opened and shut down the laptop properly, I finally just got up ignoring the voices in the back of my mind nagging me about the guilt.
I got dressed into a pair of white shorts, a creamy orange tank top and I pulled on a white sweater to keep me warm. I brushed through my hair with my comb and then walked out of the room. I noticed Victoria's room was closed meaning she was changing.
I climbed down the stairs slowly being cautious about my legs. I went into the Rec Room cause that's where Max and Jessi seemed to always be. They were both on the couch chatting and didn't seem to notice me. I didn't really want to go in because I remembered Max might be disappointed too, so I tried to walk backwards carefully but then stepped on a creaky board on the floor.
Both Max's and Jessi's heads turned towards me. Oh great.
"Um hi." I waved.
"Hey princess." Max greeted. I blushed slightly and sat down on one of the love seats.
"Are you all ready to go Emily?" Jessi asked. I nodded my head.
"There's nothing you have to do before we leave?" Max questioned.
I gulped. "Erm, no." Max just smiled at me. I found it creepy.
Victoria then entered the room. "Ready to go?!"
~
I looked out the window watching the scenes go by. We were going so fast it was hard to focus on anything. I finally turned around in my seat, facing the front again.
"Where exactly are we going?" I asked.
"To the mall I think right now." Max said from the next to me. Victoria was driving and Jessi was in the passenger seat.
"Oh" was all I said. 10 minutes later we made it to the mall. The same mall I encountered my first paparazzi & fan attack. As we stopped and parked the car Victoria turned around in her seat and faced me.
"You are going to be needing to hold one of our hands at all times." Victoria said motioning to Max, Jessi and herself. "I don't want you getting separated from us, okay?"
"Okay." I nodded. We all got out of the car and I grabbed Jessi's hand. I think Victoria was offended.
Once we got in, we strode along the mall dropping into different stores. Luckily with so much people here, no one seemed to notice us. As we went into one store Jessi found something she liked and went to go try it on. She sent me to go to Max or Victoria. Victoria was looking at a clothes rack and Max was standing near her on his phone.
I walked over and brushed past Max and stood in between the two awkwardly. I didn't really want to hold anyone's hand at the moment. Believe or not but it started to get sweaty and gross after a while.
"Where's Jessi?" Max asked me as he noticed my presence.
"She's in the fitting rooms."
Victoria looked up. "Just stay here then." I nodded and followed Victoria around the store as she occasionally stopped to look at different items, Max took up the rear. Finally Jessi came out and I started to walk her way. A hand grabbed my wrist though pulling me gently towards them.
"Woah little missy where do you think you're going?" Max asked.
"Over there." I pointed to where Jessi was looking at some jewelry.
"Okay you can over there but don't walk off anywhere without telling us, okay?"
"I won't." I said to him and skipped over to Jessi.
"Hello dear." She smiled at me.
"Hi." I beamed up at her. I was happy not to be in Max's and Victoria's watch right now. Whenever I went near them now my heart started racing and my guilt would build up even higher. It almost seemed like they knew.
"Are you going to get that shirt?" I asked trying to make small talk. I was talking about the shirt she had tried on in the fitting room.
"I am. Do you like it?"
I nodded my head.
Max and Victoria then came over.
"Ah mom there you are. Are you ready to go?" Victoria questioned.
"Yep, we just got to pay."
~
We were now in the food court eating a quick snack. Victoria said we were having a big dinner tonight so we shouldn't get to filled up. This was the same food court that we met One Direction in. Speaking about One Direction their concert, the one Jazz and I were going to, was in two days. I was so excited.
