Chapter 28: Truth Spills And Cuddles Come To Rescue

Victoria's POV:

Our plan was running smoothly and I was glad. As much as I hated seeing Emily in distress, I wanted her to own up to her mistakes and actions.

Max slipped his hand in mine when we stood up after we ate our quick snack. Emily of course grabbed Jessi's hand.

"Where should we go now?" My mom asked. "Does anybody want to go to anymore stores or should we head out?"

I looked at Emily and noticed she was squirming. I realized we never went to her favourite toy store. We always did when we came here.

"Emily, do you want to go anywhere else before we leave?" I questioned.

She looked up at me with wide eyes and shook her head, "No."

"Okay well, let's go then." I directed.

It was honestly killing me doing this, knowing I was killing her happiness slowly.

Emily's POV:

No one knew how much I wanted to go to that toy store right now. There was this new karaoke machine I saw on TV and I really wanted to get it.

It wasn't like I could just come back on my own time later. No, I would have to wait until the next time we came to the mall which would probably be not very soon because Victoria doesn't like taking the risk of taking me out into public.

As we started walking towards the exit, I just wanted to stop and confess then, but I didn't. Making an public scene wouldn't be good, especially since the paparazzi would show up and the crazed fans would know who we were.

I kept hesitating but luckily Jessi didn't notice.

I felt a hand on the small of my back pushing me forward faster. I looked around to see Max.

"Your walking a little slow Em." He told me sincerely. "We need to go a bit faster so the fans don't recognize who we are."

I blushed when I noticed Victoria was staring at me too.

"Sorry." I muttered and turned around and started to walk faster.

The guilt was killing me. I felt queasy now, oh why couldn't I be good at this? I couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Wait!" I said and stopped, tugging Jessi with me.

I looked up at Victoria saw her eyes widen and noticed Max was smirking but quickly kept a straight face.

"Why did you stop Emily sweetie?" Jessi asked me concerned.

"I uh um, uh can we go sit down again?" I stuttered

"What's wrong?" Jessi looked at me.

"We just need to go sit down." I said quietly and directed everybody back to the food court where we just were.

I waited until we were all seated and then spilled it all out, "I'm sorry, so sorry. I didn't mean to do any of this. I don't know what came out of me last night, Max. I didn't mean to be stubborn and rude. And I'm sorry for falling asleep when I wasn't supposed to, I guess I was just really tired. This morning I didn't want to deal with the guilt or punishment so I asked Grandma if we could go out. It was my idea and I'm sorry."

I finished and realized I had tears streaming down my face. Thankfully it was loud enough in the food court though so no one heard my mini speech. 

I looked up at everybody, Jessi looked shocked, I guess she didn't really know what was going on. 

Max looked proud but also had a smug look on his face. And Victoria was...crying. She held out her arms for me and that was I needed to know, to know that I was forgiven. I got out of my seat and hurried over to her and she pulled me on her lap and hugged me to her. 

"Awe baby, I love you so much. Your forgiven, its alright now." She soothed me. 

"I'm so sorry." I blubbered.

Victoria held me for a bit longer than Max spoke up. "Come here, munchkin." 

I turned around out of Victoria's lap and walked over to Max. 

"Look at me, babe." He directed and I made eye contact with him. 

"Listen I think you learned your lesson, so you don't have to go back in the corner, alright?" He spoke and I nodded. "What you did last night and this morning wasn't very nice but I've forgiven you already so let's just not do it again. Okay?" 

"Okay." 

"Atta girl." He praised and lifted me up and hugged me. He stood up then, putting me on his back, and Jessi and Victoria followed.

"Shall we go to the toy store now?" Max asked and I beamed.

Even with all the ups and downs we went through, I loved my family.

I'm so sorry! So so so so so sorry!!! You don't even know! 

I kept telling you guys I would update and then I wouldn't. 

I have been really busy with school, especially with exams and summatives, but that's no excuse. 

NO THIS IS NOT THE END. I just ended a crappy, cheesy ending.
