Chapter 44

"What the hell is happening with you?!" Y/n asked the Origami as he pushed her back, preventing her from killing the remaining DEM survivor. "Let me go! This bastard deserves death for what he has done!" Origami shouted, demanding the death of this person as she continued to struggle and power through. Since Y/n was still holding back, the power gap was too huge, as Origami was going all out.

As a countermeasure, Y/n immediately stopped time for a split second to at least hide the DEM survivor. However, Origami caught on to his intentions and breached through his stopped time as she readied to stab the knife right through the jugular at her presupposed victim if it weren't for Y/n blocking it with his own palm. "How many people?" he asked as he held a tight grip on the weapon. Beneath the mask, Origami's anger filled breathing could be heard as she answered, "Not enough for them to pay for what they have done!"

Dropping the knife, Origami immediately fired a blast aimed at the survivor. Taking notice of this, Y/n created a clone of himself to tank through it, knowing Origami wouldn't dare to hurt him. Right on the money, the Reiryoku caused the clone no harm, but it surrounded the clone just enough to bind him in place. 

'Tch. She's not thinking straight. At this point, she will try to kill this guy before I can escape,' Y/n thought as he immediately created some clone decoys. 'This might be risky, but I'm sure I can play this right,' he added as he continued to run to the command center aimlessly as he emitted a high concentration of Reiryoku, hoping that Origami's tunnel vision would make him track him instead. 

However, as soon as he reached the command center, he was horrified at the sight that he saw. There were so many dead bodies, and Origami had tortured the people in there until they died from either blood loss, extreme pain, or burning to death. Even though everything was burnt to a crisp in the aftermath, the lingering smell of blood and gore was still there and it was tempting to make Y/n vomit in disgust.

 Slowly, a personnel then rose miraculously surviving the cuts he had received along with the burn marks on his face. He was about to take advantage of the horror Y/n was experiencing. With a pistol in hand, the personnel was about to pull the trigger when he saw a flash of light, revealing Origami who had arrived just in time and brought him down to an angle where she was about to slit the personnel's throat. "So you're still alive, Paddington! I should've dealt with you first, but I saved you for last since you were involved in their deaths!" Origami roared in anger as she slowly pressed the knife on Paddington's throat. Finally, Y/n had enough of what he thought was nonsense and demanded, "Stop this at once! I want to know what the hell is happening here!" 

"Hehe... So, we finally met, False Spirit...or should I say, Y/n Karasawa. I never thought those Shuhei and Kirei would've kept it a secret that they had a child. If your lady didn't tell me who you were, I would've thought you were that Yakuza's son," Paddington uttered out, finally meeting the child of the traitors. "Those names... How do you know my parents?" he asked as Paddington emitted a low chuckle. "So they never wanted to involve you in this business huh? Listen kid, your parents are not what they seem to be? You know that kid you're protecting from Ellen, right? Your parents, they willingly helped Project Dei, willingly so-"

Origami then slammed the handle of her dagger at Paddington's head, and removed her mask to show her anger. "Cut the crap! I saw the files! DEM omitted the fact that they were genetically modified Johannes so that he could be a weapon for them! When they knew and they took action, you killed them! In fact, you spearheaded the operation to take them down!" she shouted as Y/n was in utter confusion of what was happening.
