Chapter 48

Two nights after the vacation in Arubi Island, both Kaguya and Yuzuru were restless in their room, unable to sleep as the thought of Johannes being harmed still lingered in their head. It was worse for Yuzuru, who had seen right in her very own eyes of failing to protect Johannes from Ellen. 

"Can't get any rest, Yuzuru?" Kaguya asked as she rose up from the bed. "Positive. Yuzuru cannot get any wink of sleep remembering what happened days ago," Yuzuru answered, still remembering her failure. Kaguya knew better than to rub that fact in her twin's face and just became silent. "I see, I guess that event left a traumatic impact on you," Kaguya tried keeping her usual demeanor, trying her best for her voice not to break up as she remembers the grief in her sister's voice and the almost grim death of the one she was supposed to protect.

"I want to be better, I need to be stronger. In order to protect Johannes," Kaguya declared as Yuzuru scoffed. "Question. How will Kaguya be able to improve? Yuzuru doesn't know a person who can train and handle you," Yuzuru flatly stated, and Kaguya grinned as she replied,

"You underestimate me, dear twin. I know a guy who can help us fight better."

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Y/n! The great Kaguya Yamai is requesting your honorable presence!" Kaguya declared as Johannes, who was clinging on Yuzuru's back, remarked, "Couldn't you just knock normally? You don't need to cause a ruckus." Kaguya scoffed, and continued knocking as she replied, "It's already 8AM! I assume everyone is out at work now!"

"Yeah, and it's the weekends. Some are still trying to sleep," Johannes tried to be the voice of reason as Yuzuru agreed. "Agreement. People are trying to rest from work or school, so please tone down your noisiness Kaguya," she replied and soon enough, someone opened the door. "Alright, who's knocking at our door this- Ow! Ow! Ow!" Y/n got smacked repeatedly as Kaguya wasn't paying attention and kept doing a knocking motion.

"Ah! S-sorry!" Johannes apologized and Y/n seemed to not mind. "Nah, you're good. Still, why the hell are you up at 8 in the goddamned morning? I'm still making breakfast for Yoshino," Y/n complained as Kaguya got a good look of him. Wearing an apron underneath his pajamas while holding a spatula, she then stated, "You look good with an apron."

"Damn straight I do," Y/n replied with pride before gesturing for them to come in. As the three entered Y/n's house, they noticed the sheer lack of usual people there. "Huh. Where's your uncle?" Johannes asked while wondering where is everyone. "Unfortunately, Origami has work in AST and Ryo has to attend to your dad. So I'm here alone taking care of Yoshino. She should be awake any second now," Y/n answered as Kaguya noticed the plate of food on the dining table.

"Don't you dare touch it. If you want food, then ask me for it," Y/n strictly told Kaguya, making Yuzuru scoff. "Snicker. Yuzuru apologizes for Kaguya's immature behavior," she flatly apologized, but it was clear she was just mocking Kaguya. "Pfft. Spare me that, I know you're mocking Kaguya rather than being genuine. Besides, I've dealt with Spirits more problematic than you two are," Y/n replied and then heard someone going downstairs. 

It was Yoshino who had just woken up, greeting Y/n before noticing the three strangers. Immediately, she went behind Y/n who immediately reassured that the three were to be trusted. "Go on, introduce yourself," Y/n gently told Yoshino who then introduced herself. "Umm... I'm Yoshino Karasawa... Pleased to meet you all," she introduced herself and the puppet then introduced themselves. "The name's Yoshinon! Pleased to be of your acquaintance!" the rabbit puppet introduced themselves and Kaguya then squatted down and carefully pinched Yoshino's cheeks. "You're sooo cute! Is this your cousin?!" Kaguya squealed in joy as Y/n scratched his head.
